Sorry, but snickering a bit. Those spotty things on the foot part seem odd, and might make them a bit impractical?

I think the spotty things are just gross. Like gigantic chicken skin. Yech.

My husband said "that is where the quills come out" and I am like "I KNOW WHAT THEY ARE".

I didn't say they were gross. But I was uncontrollably giggling. Not exactly the thing to do with DH struggling so much.

One my first thoughts was wondering if I could get Tink to pee on them. (I would never, ever encourage that but I was having So Many Thoughts.)

Also, all of a sudden, I feel less guilty about my eventual purchase of mountain boots.

Today, I still don't like them. But, if they provide some joy, that's ok. Also, yesterday was the first time in a long time that we laughed together at funny things. Not morbid things.

I was thinking acne, but plucked chicken covers it too...

pustular acne. the (likely fake) kind on you tube videos. (My DD finds that stuff and makes me watch)

Okay, let's see if the gay man can pass the Shel boot test! I basically wore boots like this every single day during my teens (My very favorite boots I can't find a picture of. Leather upper and suede shoe - always a riding heel. Got dirty fast, but sooooo comfortable for wide feet!) Yes, I grew up on the back of a horse! Oh, Shel, I also wore Wranglers, not Levi's.

I approve of these boots :) It would still be weird for DH to order them out of the blue considering that he orders the same pair of vans year after year after year. But your boots wouldn't garner a second look from my boot wearing cattlemen. Plus, horse peeps were expected to be a bit more flashy.

I posted to the RNY crowd this morning. I find myself walking in ever expanding circles - outreaching at home and abroad for, I don't know what- probably just purely connection- maybe the need to be able to look my eye into the eye of kindred spirits who are along or up ahead of the same path I find myself in. For me, this takes courage as such behavior is not generally in my wheelhouse. I am finding that every time I do such, new doors open through which I may share the awfulness and intense beauty that is our lives. It humbles me- that I might be gifted such as this in compensation for

Diane O- so good and wise of you to recognize when a behavior puts a person on the "fine line". That line for me quickly became a thread beyond my ability to control or negotiated. There is much percolating in the upcoming future- DC and your mom's health and welfare . A true peace and energy suck. The SAD cannot be helping. Clouds be gone, and may a long lasting Indian Summer drop down upon you!(closest thing I could find to the sun).

Today there is no school (comp day for teachers). I am off to the ceramics lab early this afternoon to try and get a bit ahead of - I will be loosing another 2 classes upcoming, and need to renegotiate w/ instructor. Am hoping he will allow me to suspend work and take it up again in completion next semester some time. 4 classes missed turned now to 6 makes it ridiculous even for me.

I am today looking at you all eye to eye. What gifts you are to me.

Good morning. It is super foggy here this morning, but should brighten up later. Yesterday we went to Domaine Serene and did some wine tasting. What a beautiful day it was (we had sun, serenity and really good wine)!

I'm not sure what we will do today. BIL is off to work and SIL has tennis this morning. So I'll get DH showered and figure it out. I do know we are out to dinner again (3rd day in a row). We have been sharing meals which eliminates leftovers but I still worry about the calories!
