Peps
on 10/12/18 11:25 am

Weight down just a tad more (.4 lbs).

On the docket for this weekend are three groomings (1 Airedale, 1 Norwich Terrier, 1 Irish Terrier). I also am going to make and portion out my breakfasts for the week. I also need to get Ace and Dottie stripped in a first stage trim this weekend so that they are both ready for the Palm Spring Shows the first weekend in January. First dog shows of the year. (They are pretty darn fun because it's a swanky show held on polo grounds with grand tents!)

I am trying to figure out another day on which I can add a workout - not just exercise, but a true workout.

So... taking August off from grooming gave me a taste of what it would be like to have less on my weekly schedule. I would very much like to reduce my grooming even more. I like having a bit of free time to do as I WOULD LIKE rather than being at the beck and call of a client schedule. Hmmm.... Honestly, as "mean" as it may sound, I'm hoping for some natural attrition in the coming year. I have several old, old, old dogs that I don't think will be around too much longer. Rather than "fire" them, I will wait until they pass on and simply not take a new client dog in its place.

Liza is taking longer to potty train (as did Dottie) than I would like. Must be the multiple dog syndrome and not being able to give her the proper attention for her potty needs. Of course, perhaps I expect too much from a not quite 14 week old puppy. I know it will happen, I just wi**** were sooner rather than later.

I am getting excited about my full on reset and Beginning Anew. This is not the norm for me, so I'm considering this a good sign. My only qualm is that to follow Bright Line Eating (yes, a diet, I know.... though the book claims it is not a diet....really???? LOL) I should eat only 3 times per day. Bless my ever loving super sized sleeve, I am not able to eat as much in a sitting as is called for. Example of this is a breakfast of 3 hard boiled eggs, 4 oz cooked yams, and 6 oz of berries. Clearly, I will have to eat more often than 3 times a day to get the adequate calories and nutrients. What will be especially hard for me is to curtail the night eating. I tend to eat dinner around 8:00 pm and ideally to get a good 12-14 hour fast in I should finish eating for the day around 6 or 7. Though I am pretty good about being able to wait until 10:00 am to eat. Will have to play that one by ear because I know eating by 6 pm just ain't gonna happen!

Ann, so happy for you NOT to have guests this weekend. What a wonderful surprise to have that free ME time! Diane O. have a nice time at the RV site. Sounds like you will be able to come and go as you please, which is kind of nice. One night in the RV, two nights at home, two in the RV, etc... I could go for that! BB, YAYAYAYA! Paula, you must be busy, busy, busy with the boys and the new guy. Hope the adjustment to life without Ben is going okay. I know it was a roller coaster for my dad. Cecily, hope you check in soon. TeshaLorna, how great to hear from you yesterday. David, how's the healing coming along? Lesa, miss your posts. How is the library this year? Bonnie150, how are things going? Do you have a surgery date yet? Diane S. glad shrinking nerd is healing. Are you coming to Del Valle shows this month? Any plans for shows anytime soon? Wine Country KC in November?

Wishing everyone a fantastic Friday and wonderful weekend!

Peps, you DO sound energized! I also appreciate your desire to have more time for YOU. I second that emotion. :)

BTW, I know those polo grounds out in the desert well. It's a great venue. That part of California is delicious in January!

Today Lavender is ALL over the house. Curiosity should be her middle name. She is not phased by any height and just stares down the dogs. Justice is calming down slowly (he wants to play). He is on a leash until fully calm but right now they are about 4 feet from one another sleeping: Lavender on a dining room chair and Justice in my lap. Oh and Lavender likes to sit on shoulders like a fur stole! LOL!

My Siamese, kitty of my 20s and 30s, used to sit on my shoulder when I was reading. My husband said I looked like a strange pirate, who substituted the parrot for a cat.

LOL! I've never had a cat that did this even though we had quite a few growing up.

Heck my dogs drape themselves over my shoulder. Tesla especially. Its like one of those fur foxes ladies used to wear as a stole. I actually have one of those from an aunt. Its well hidden - the dogs would destroy it. ds
