I hear you Diamond - its the full circle thing .... They care us then it goes around that we end up being their carers
Labour of love though :) My mum is 77 too and hasnt been the same since we lost my sister 11 years ago and my father 10 years ago. Im her only direct family left and we are super close.
Wishing your mum positive vibes and good news - will be thinking of you all
Yes, being a caretaker often comes before you expect it. My younger kids were just iin college when I started helping my mother a lot, then my MIL. Of course now it is my husband (that sure wasn't planned).

152 again. Not so good. I have been pretty active lately since DH can't do any lifting chores. He has decided he will live. He is about out of vicodin but has been using motrin. I have a stash of vicodin from a prior hand surgery. Shel, don't tell.
Lots going on will everyone and that's good. Yeah Ann, your body knows when you need rest.
Diamond, hope things go well for your mom. Read my old posts about dealing with ailing mother. Hoping things are good.
Yeah Shell, definitely do the uphill training. I would not do that crevice without a waiting helicopter. Actually, I would not do it at all but I applaud your efforts.
Gallery duty this morning. Few sales but quite a few interesting visitors. I love tour guiding them to all the funnest places. One lady wanted to know where native American artifacts were displayed and I knew several options (Shel, remember Trees of Mystery?)
Our gallery is having some special event in December that is invitation only. I am skeptical but will do my part. I will make wine stoppers - like bears wearing santa hats.
So before his surgery I told DH he had to get the back yard cleaned up. He did indeed cut down lots of weedy plants. He made a big brush pile in the middle of the yard. Well Tesla and Chip have started hunting in there big time. I am sure there are mice or rats. They have killer instincts. I want to get that pile hauled away though the terriers will terrorize whatever lives there to the point they will go away. Peps, do your Airedales hunt rodents?
Well thats about it. Wishing the best to all.
A bit of bacon and egg salad tonight. No wonder I am loosing no weight. Welcome back Lorna!!! Diane S
LOL On the rodent hunting. I think dogs will hunt most anything intriguing though they rarely catch them thank goodness.
Bears with Santa Hats? I love it.
