Whew! Slept well last night, and weight is down nearly 1.5 pounds. Back in the right direction. :)

Yesterday morning, after several nights of not enough sleep, I was tired and decided not to go to the pool. I'm proud of myself for appreciating that being mindful about how my body feels and responding appropriately is not the same as laziness. I continue to learn new things that work better for me than my old rules did.

Today is already crisp and clear with temps in the 40s. I'm excited about wearing layers. :) Today I'll go to yoga class and do some serious grocery shopping. This morning, my landscapers arrive to winterize stuff, trim hedges, and install some lower maintenance plantings. Contractors will finally finish the outside home repairs today or tomorrow. I'll be so glad to finish all this stuff up! :)

Today's theme (I'm really liking this one): Begin anew!

Post adrenalin surge carb crunching (toast, pretzels, croutons) pushed me up to the top of my range. It is still raining on and off, and the very outer bands of Michael won't reach us until tonight. I'LL be driving SS to her three week Fall Fling into Serenity spot later today, and we'll level and extend the slider but won't set up outside until the rain abates. We'll probably have the dogs sleep at the house tonight, and depending upon the weather, we may too.

As those thousands truly impacted by Michael wake up, positive thoughts and energy to begin anew !

Good day everyone,

You guys look like you are all doing amazing. I'm doing good again finally. I've put on 18 lbs since my hubby passed away, but I'm back on track and have 3 of them off already. My weight gain I believe was mostly from lack of exercise, my eating was not horrible, but I used to run 30 to 40 Km a week and I stopped doing pretty much everything. I finally feel like I'm getting myself back and adjusting. But it will be three years in March that he passed. So I guess its time to get my acting together. So glad to see you guys here!

Has anyone seen spencerella, I'm wondering how she is doing?

Spencerella has been doing very well. She and I and Ron and Rob all had dinner together several months ago when she and Rob traveled to California on business for Rob's work. She is svelte, happy and enjoying her job as a clothes stylist. She is more wonderful in person than you could imagine. She's good people!

Thank you Peps, that is great, she was always a great person online, so can only imagine her to be great in person.

Hi, Lorna. Welcome (back). :)

A couple of us here who joined in the last few years have also lost our husbands -- mine this past January, and Paula's in June. So you have some new friends here who can relate to your own loss and life transition(s).

I've been hanging out here for nearly two years. And I get up early, so you'll see my avatar a LOT!

Please stick around and support us, and we'll support you. This is such a great group. It's the first place I check in every morning (after My Fitness Pal).

:)

Weight 120.6, calories 686. Weight going in the right direction but I expect a stall in the next day or so. It is a slow road down. It is still warm here (70's) but will be in the 50's this weekend. So a drastic drop. We are doing an Alzheimer's awareness and fundraising walk in Provincetown on Sunday, so my Irish sweater may be out.

I am hoping to get DH in to see a geriatric psychiatrist. There aren't many of them and the one I was talking to wanted to see a bunch of records before accepting him as a patient. She finally agreed to see him and said that if we could get a referral from DH's PCP yesterday she had a couple of openings today. I called right away of course, but it had to go to the "referral office", so I don't know if it got done! So frustrating. I want to get DH on something more before Florida because he is definitely depressed again. He doesn't want to do much, has cried a few times and is getting more snappy/nasty.

On a brighter note, Lavender came home yesterday afternoon and is such a sweet and lively girl. We are trying to keep her separated from the dogs for a few days while she adjusts, but she did sneak out once last night. Though Justice nearly had a coronary, Lavender didn't seem terribly nervous so I think that is a very good sign since they have to co-exist for a while.

So yes again, begin anew!
