A while back, I bought a mandala at an art fair in large part because the artist had titled it "Intention". She said that tulips represent intention because you plant them and they flower much later. There aren't that many tulips in it but I bought it anyway.

Tis the season for planting tulips!

The tulip =intentions is rolling around in my brain in a most delightful way. It's a pleasing thought, and although I might not be able to do all those other aspirational things I keep reading like reach for the stars etc, I can plant tulips.

Greetings Fearless Ones

Still at 151 which I see as a blessing of no weight gain. Its a beautiful fall day here and I must get out. Stayed home yesterday due to DH condition except run to pharmacy and grocery. He got over the intense pain episode but he thinks the surgery has failed and the hernia has returned. So we will be getting in to see the doctor tomorrow - hopefully working it around my dexa scan. Lordy aging is rough and we haven't hit any of the big stuff yet. I am hoping he is wrong about the surgery failure and it is just swelling. I fear a corrective surgery would have to be open and not laparoscopic. Bummer may be in the making.

Interesting Shel and Diane O about the tracking self care. Shel I beg to differ but I am truly the laziest about tracking. I did food for four years and did so in little notebooks. I still have all 9 of them. Dr. Cirangle thought it was obsessive at first but then decided it was ok. But I have now quit. DH uses MFP and I think he actually weighs out dishes of junk food.

Lots of chores today. Since DH is not supposed to lift or bend I will be emptying dishwasher and taking out trash and such. Not a big deal. And have to collect gallery cash for deposit. Big sales from Friday.

As to dog ribbons, the blue one is first place in Lucky's class. There are several classes of dogs seeking championship points. Then they take the winner of each of the classes and from that they select winners dog which is the one that gets the points. They also select a reserve which is first runner up. Thats what Lucky got. At a big show like this one that's a really big deal. Especially for a young one. So congrats Peps!

Well our team lost yesterday as expected but did not embarrass themselves. There were flashes of excellence and not a pile of dumb mistakes. Iowa State did well and won so I told my niece, a grad of their vet school, that I was going to adopt them as my team.

Power went out in the middle of the night because some dodo, probably drunk, crashed into a power pole and drove away. That is not an unusual occurrence in this county - the infra structure is so rinky dink.

Hope everyone is well and finds some fun on this lovely day. Diane S

Years before my VSG I had a lap incisional hernia repair that had to be repeated a couple of years later and the doctor did the repeat as an open procedure. All turned out ok but I still hope that your DH isn't going down that path. GL

Thanks for the explanation about the ribbons and points.

I'm supposed to schedule a for a dexa too.....I keep forgetting. Maybe tomorrow (I say with great hope)

Today's tulip planting: return to my tai chi video. It was a habit last spring that got sidetracked this summer.

Hey all, a good way to do tulips is to plant them in plastic planters in the fall and put them out of sight. Then bring them out when they start to come up. After they are finished, put the planters out of sight again until the next year. My friend insists that if you put some plastic flowers in the planters, creatures won't come in and eat the bulbs. Good Morning All - start of the working week for me. I have been up since 5am so I could make the marinade for tonights chicken - taking my mum to hospital shortly as she is having cataract surgery. Will collect her around 11am and she will stay the week with us. Thankful I have a flexiable job and work from home

Weekend was very active - my ol bones let me know they dont like moving rocks composed of granite ! But happy with what we achieved up at our farm. Got lots of slashing, rotary hoeing, rock moving and planted 12 maples along the front fenceline. How the challenge will be to keep them alive through summer.

No weigh in this morning - I forgot but shall do tommorrow. I only weigh weekly

Food will be good today - have meal planned for the week so mum knew what we where having etc. Making her a pork roast (her fav) tomm night

Enjoy the rest of your weekend all

Shirley :)
