I'm waging battle with my wireless router today. Electronic stuff is so finicky! I'm just going to replace the modem and the router because I am done trying to figure out which is the culprit. I think they're in cahoots to drive me crazy and swapping out both will quash the rebellion.

Adding to my desire to pull out my hair over the wireless is my neighbor taking out their entire downstairs-full of tile floors (1500 sq ft). They've been jackhammering for DAYS over there starting at 7am and went last night until 9pm. Maddening.

I am slowly returning to my food routines and it feels pretty good. Now if the jelly beans I impulse bought would disappear or find their way into the garbage, that would be great.

Ann, I loved The Boys in the Boat!!

Happy Saturdays, All... (and Sunday to you, Shirley!)

May you be victorious over the wireless router. My DH added a router signal extender so it will reach all parts of the house including the electric car in the garage. But he is Mr. Nerd.

We also got a new modem/router at our gallery. We were having lots of trouble and ATT didn't want to replace it but we insisted. Much better now. The Square uses wireless.

Have a great day. Thinking of Gracie. So heart breaking when a pet goes around looking for one that is gone. Our old Liza did that when Tiger died.Mutts are a must!! ds

TED Talks--a more than wonderful library. A school of sorts. - I find that it sometimes creates a new place on my self map that I never knew was there, and having named that place- there is a new destination to check out. New vistas-- Part of my definition of what Life Learning is all about.

Oh, those crap coping tools that, while necessary for survival, and then bite us totally in the ass later on because we don't see the obsolesce and destructive nature-- ( Not to say I no longer have any of those, but, at least some have been set down--- ) One source of sadness in working with H S kiddoes is in seeing those "survival lessons" in full, nefarious work. I see myself in some of those and know first hand where that **** led me - While I know "old can't tell young, young has to experience themselves", I try to be an example of dealing with life's' issues a different and more self loving way.

Medications are such a nuisance and disrupter, but sometimes necessary--I hope your creeping lung crud issue resolves itself. Meanwhile---mow--run---jump--do the cracker-dog-hopped up activity to your heart's content. Excess energy can be such a buzzzzzzzzzz.

Hello!

I am waiting for DD to get out of SAT. We ended up 1.5 hours away from home because of scheduling issues. There is a gorgeous coastal state park near by so I had a fabulous morning exploring about 5 miles of it

This is the general area where DH is currently fixated on retiring. It is certainly beautiful. To get to the North Cascades I would just have to drive due east on the same highway. In between here and there is farmland which always makes me feel good to drive thru.

DianeS, hope DH is recovering well. Welcome our new Australian friend!!!!! I am sorry I don?t have your name in front of me!

Greetings Buddies

No weight today or yesterday. Too preoccupied by early morning get up. By the time I got DH home and settled and drugs obtained, I was bushed. He got up this morning and seemed to be ok but then was overcome with some major pain, shaking uncontrollably and unable to pee much. I called the surgeon's office. They upped the pain meds and got him a med to help pee. All that seems to be helping now and its good but I was scared I would have to haul him to the ER and its not close by. Got someone to cover at the gallery for me. I should have realized that these days they kick you out of the hospital ASAP. But it seems to be working out. He is comfortably with his iPad.

So love the posts today. Shel, is it anabolic steroids that weight lifters take? I so remember that Pumping Iron movie where Arnold is such a jerk. I had a friend who used a lot of steroids for respiratory stuff and it really caused weight issues. So Ann I hope you can get off them soon. You seem to have established such a wonderful rhythm and balance in your life and weight control.

Shel that place looks great - complete with its own great blue herron. Nice.

The boat book sounds good. Many years ago I read a book called Memoirs of an Invisible Man. A grocery store impulse buy. I think its out of print now. But it was a fabulous adventure story that I could not put down. They made it into a terrible movie with Chevy Chase.

Paula love your remarks - like being back in college when half of what we talked about was birth control. Glad you are finding some joy.

Our team plays tonight so prepare for a giant sucking sound. I need to hit the grocery store and am trying to feed DH healthy stuff but he persists with junk. Oh well. But coffee needed for me! Diane S

No worries, Diane ... I'm only taking Prednisone for five days. The effects might hang on (I've read) for two weeks. In any event, it's all temporary. Which is how one could describe many things. ;)

Oh good Ann. I took it for 5 days a few years ago. I did ok. Be grateful you can kick this. Time for me to get flu and pneumonia shots and a new shingles shot. With an old body its always something.

Totally off point but today while waiting at the pharmacy, there was a young mother with an 18 month old. He was babbling and generally well behaved but wanted to grab all the candy. An old hippie guy with a huge mustache was waiting behind them. He took and interest in the child and began talking to him to distract him from candy. Then he pulled a harmonica out of his pocket and proceeded to mesmerize the kid. Great playing. Of course the mom loved it too as did I. Only in a small town...DS

Quiet, rainy Saturday here. Read the paper slowly, some tidying up and bought some groceries. Waiting for dh to wake up from our afternoon nap, so he can grill some steaks in between the drizzle and the actual rain. I'm making loaded broccoli (everything you'd put on a loaded potato, except on broccoli) and baked apples. It's amazing to me that if I eat like this, I can maintain or even slowly lose. Good grief, why do I ever fall back into schackle foods??
