Good morning, Wednesday morning walkers, weighers, and writers. I think of each of you throughout the day and send you good thoughts. BTW, Paula and I had a good phone call the other day. She sounds wonderful!
My first cataract surgery (they only do one eye at a time) has been scheduled for mid-November. Nervous as I am, it's good to get that on the calendar.
It's just crAAAzy how many medical appointments I still have to complete this fall, even after completing my bariatric and regular physicals, mammogram, upper GI test. Still to come are a colonscopy, a bone density test, osteoporosis shots (Prolia), dental visit/cleaning, flu shot, 2 shingles vaccinations, a decision (surgery or not?) to repair my "moderate" hiatal hernia (which was the interpretation of my upper GI test; BTW, I'm now keeping a reflux diary). Not to mention all the walking, aquarobics, and yoga I'm doing and home repairs and mowing still underway here.
Today's theme: Retirement is a lot of work!

How freeing to step on the scale to verify that I am in my range versus obsessing about my exact micro position in that range !!! This practice expands my focus on more wholistic balanced health intentions. "What you inspect, you expect."
Massage scheduled today (90 minutes of bliss !) and that will be my meditation/spiritual time !! As soon as we get Seeking Serenity ( l or ll) back, we'll be looking at some interior redecoration. Colors are a bit too bland for me. We had a 30 amp outlet installed on the exterior of our garage, next to the RV parking space. We can plug her in and have power (heat, lights) to work.
Yes, managing doctor's appointments can be a challenge ! I scheduled an initial visit with a local dentist and they called back to say that my initial visit and cleaning would initially be out of pocket and I would have to obtain reimbursement from insurance. Argh !
Devon... positive thoughts for your travels home, land or air ! Cecily, I LOVE fall spring cleaning ! Enjoy the calories you burn cleansing away PS memories ! Do something nice for yourself when you're done ! Make this a great day all...be your own sun and find time to brighten someone else's day !

Hi DianeO, I have been enjoying your measure development
My mental measures:
Daily
- food planning reassurance-- usually just a "do I have food for work?" or "do I have food for dinner?" I include the word reassurance because my brain psychotically forgets foods are available in my fridge or grocery store. When feeling panicked, I buy foods I instantly regret after consuming.
- activity -- whi*****ludes planning rest days.
Most days
- weight range and/or MFP --- either works for ostrich control. By the way -- I am currently above range but will have dexa in Dec or so to reassess the range.
1-3 times a week
- sleep -- shorting sleep leads to I-don't-care grazing. Plus, rest of life suffers, too.
- self/house care. (I credit Ann for adding house to self care)
- family/friends I just added this as a formal category.

Weight 122.2, calories 670. It would be my daughter Elise's 46th Birthday today. Always a mixed day missing her but enjoying memories. For those not on FB, here is a picture I posted. She was about 21 in the larger picture and 30 in the smaller one (she died at 32). Also, a video I made a long time ago: https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=_al4YbUxBck

WOO-HOOO! Someone called me a young Wippersnatcher yesterday (yah, that would be you, Ann), and thank you. I have my fingers crossed on the cataract issue- (my understanding, with the exception of, maybe, sun damage and or upon reaching very old age (which is not your case, puppy dog) is that the condition is hugely genetic) and I have absolutely no one in my very long lived family tree that has ever encountered them. Hopeful anyway.
Holy Baloney with the medical tests! I thought the incessant demands for my blood and "pictures" was a lot. But, ya know, Diane is making sure SS is in tip top shape, and is willing to spend the time to get her there, sacrificing time and effort to achieve it. Patience, grasshopper and carry on ! Peace of mind in the area of health is truly worth it!
Speaking of which- SS I (OR) II ?????? Is there a possibility that a replacement may be in the works? At any rate, may all be resolved soon. Aggravations over such as this can suck the joy out of any experience.
Diamond D mentioned in her post the importance of showing up (daily) and " making the effort". I heard a significant comment made once by someone who found themselves living with a condition that was difficult and a roadblock in what they thought their path in life would be, causing them to choose a different way --"This isn't the life I planned for, but that's ok, because I showed up (for it) anyways".
I echo the thought of the opportunity for joy you can have, Cecily, as you clear away the PS aggravations of the past. Just think how many times you will be able to say, "In to the trash you go, you POS- I don't need you any longer"! What fun.
What ever comes our way today- what ever - it is the showing up and the effort that counts!
