Wow, wow, wow! Those are some big old black walnuts, too.
But Mr. Elm ... respect! Shel's right -- he's seen a lot.
The Wikipedia has some pictures of the glory of elms before the blight struck them. Here's an image of one town up east, looking much like the way our town's elms once looked. I can see why the old people here still mourn their loss.

I am insane! I'm driving down to pick up Lucky today. I'm leaving after I eat my lunch. I will drive the 5+ hours to get him and then the 5+ hours back. My logic? That way I have a full weekend day at home with no obligations. Hmmmm.... I will see if my logic trumps physical exhaustion. That is my only concern - that the 11 hours of driving will do me in and I will be worthless tomorrow! LOL!
I am LOVING my workouts! OMG! I can't begin to describe what it feels like to do things that appear "easy" but are really very intense. I did T bar squat to press with an added 30 pounds. You can see the move here: T Bar squat to press. Then moved to bent over single arm rows with the same T Bar. Next up alternating step ups with light weight curls (15 pound dumb bells) followed by a set of bench crunches and to finish the circuit, bench tricep dips. The thing I love about these workouts is that they are full body and highly aerobic. I am a heaving mess after each circuit, but hot damn, I can do them and walk out of the gym feeling invigorated rather than drained!
Weight was down again. Makes me happy. If I can just make good choices while I'm at Montgomery and come back within the same 3 pound range, I will be delighted. Then I have to get on the stick and shred some weight.
My trainer is also giving me a great glimpse into how different people have different tastes in what is appealing. It is very helpful for me to hear her view point on my body. Some of the things that I have learned to dislike over the years about my body (legs in particular) are the very things that her men clients want to gain. Go figure! Who knew that strongly muscled calves were a sought after physical commodity. I refuse to do any weight related activities with my calves because they are so damn big already. I will do low weight high repetition stuff, but never anything to build them - God forbid!
Well, I must feed the baby and get my ass in the car!
Happy Saturday. Wish me luck and safe journeys!
Bon voyage!
Your workout sounds fabulous! And so encouraging to me. Thank you.

Greetings all
Still hovering at 151, Wi**** was 141 but there it is.
Watched our team suck today. Not as bad as last week but still much improvement needed. So now I have to watch other good teams to get a fix. I am a Stanford fan as they are brainiacs.
Liz, hope GG gets some answers soon. There is a simple thyroid test and more complex ones. Hope she gets the good ones.
Ann, fall in the midwest is so great. We are even having a decent one here. Some rain today on the Art and Wine Festival which I did not attend. Its fun but I knew it would rain.
Making shrimp tonight with veggies.
Peps, great workout. I envy you for being so fit. Keep at it.
Anybody have this syndrome? Buying more veggies than you can eat with good intentions and then tossing lots. Lots of that going on here lately. DH doesn't like them much. He only eats snow peas and sugar snaps.
Not much to offer today. Hope its a good day for all. Diane S
Diane -- yes, I also suffer from that syndrome.
What irks me is when I can't buy just individual pieces of fruit and get over-enthused at the "cheap" price of 8-10 V/Fs in a bag. Buying V/Fs in bulk is NEVER an economy when you shop for one.
