Weight 121.4, calories 799.
Welcome to the weekend! I hope you have decent weather and can get out and about or recuperate (David). The sun is out here so even though it is chilly it definitely raises one's spirits.
We kind of hibernated in the drizzle yesterday though a friend of DH took him out for lunch. Today i think we will go somewhere for a long walk with a Justice and tonight we are going to a friends home for dinner. Starting Monday we can walk dogs on the beach again (October 1-April 30), so that will be nice.
DD with hair loss saw the dermatologist this week and had 5 vials of blood drawn. She sees the rheumatologist next week. Eldest DD told me last night that alopecia is also a symptom of hypothyroid and was one of her major signs when diagnosed. I would hope they are testing thyroid function too. Eldest DD who always wanted to live in NYC is giving us her apartment there next weekend. She has finally had it with the city and is looking at opportunities outside of it, including Jacksonville FL. You can never predict!
Have a sunny Saturday!

Weight continues to slide down slowly since returning from Michigan, as it should. :)
It is gorgeous here this morning where it'll be in the 50s-60s most of today with sunshine and breezes. Fall has definitely fallen! I'm imagining the color already shining up east for some of you. In the Lower Midwest our leaf color is at its height in late October. Our little town now has a lot of 50-year-old maples that were planted when Dutch elm disease wiped out all the beautiful old elms last century, and we now get to enjoy the lovely maple-y red.
This weekend I'm doing lots of laundry. Today's decluttering project is throwing away old decorating magazines I'd saved from 15-20 years ago when we were redecorating our previous home and building this one. Yes, that's right ... 15-20 years ago. ;)
My unprocrastinating project today is gathering into one place all my old writing course materials, stories, poetry and unfinished novels I've written over the decades. I read some of my old stories yesterday and was amazed at how well they have held up.
I still can hardly believe that mail/bills is no longer a burden that creates boatloads of anxiety. Now when I pick up the mail, I bring it home, sort through it all, throw away junk mail, shred the bits with my/our name(s) and address, pay the bills, mail the bills, file the bills. Every day it's all over in 15 minutes or less, which feels like a miracle. Yes, that's right - I'm nearly 73 years old, and that was one of my stupid lifelong bugaboos!
Today's theme: Slow and steady wins the race. ;)

Liz, DS#2 calls phlebotomists Vampires, and I think, maybe when so very many viles are taken there might just be a little "sampling" going on---hmmmmm. Slurp-slurp.
Ann, we've had much of the same weather as you-love it! For some reason, there are a few scattered elms in the area that survived the elm blight from back when. We have one in our yard- There are pictures of it mature from the early 1920s, so it is at least 100+ years old and more.- It's a truly magnificent old gentleman (we do not put anything under it - not even ourselves as it occasionally and unpredictability loses massive branches for no other reason than just because. We cannot bring ourselves to take it down.
The change in season continues to wreak havoc on my closet. 10-12s and medium tops are out and find myself haunting Ste. Vincents for 6-8s. No complaints here, but I'm hanging on to the 10's because at nearly 5'7" - and at my age- I don't know...The rest goes back to Vinnies from whence they came. (Shopping cheap thrills--Oct. 11th is SACK SALE-(translated)-bring a bunch home and play dress up!

Shel, what's the name again of that book about trees you were listening to while hiking this summer?

The Overstory by Richard Powers. A Description
I wasn't always so sure about it as I listened. But, the tree related parts, in particular, are imprinted on my brain....which is exactly what the author wanted. Well crafted.
