RV saga continues, but your encouraging comments are appreciated David ! It will be seven business days to get the new cooling unit for the refrigerator (they are going to do that before replacing the whole thing) and they are still dickering between Forest River and leveling vendor on parts. We have had to cancel the second RV reservation, this time a week at the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, which was supposed to start Sunday. We're going to spend basically the same amount and stay three nights and go by car. I'm keeping detailed records, in the event that we pursue application of the Lemon Law. October 2nd will be the demarcation of the service department having the RV in their possession longer than we had it in ours.
The good news is I'm not eating over any of this. I AM consuming more wine than normal, but my spirits are holding. Dave...positive thoughts on your upcoming surgery ! I feel good things in your future. BB, eager to hear the results of DH's interview ! Bonnie 150, when do you know how Lyle made out in the kiln ? Liz.. hope DH continues to stabilize at home. Eager to hear how DD's process unfolds too. PEPS, have fun at the show and wrapping your head (and heart) around next steps. I, too, bit off sugar before ALL flour. Shel... can't get that bridge out of my mind ! I don't even like pseudo balance beams on the ground !! Diane... loved your gym story about meeting DH ! Ann, hope you are having a ball !!

Calories 908, protein 116, carbs 59, fat 22. Darn Nut Thins made their way into my mouth with cottage cheese. But I ate as planned the rest of the day. Just 2 more days of keeping low cal, then the scale will tell me where I am...
I sure hope you get the RV back soon. I have to admit that I'd be getting very angry with them by now.
Yesterday we walked to a dog friendly beach, had lunch there and sat for a couple of hours while I read and DH dozed. He had a book with pictures but he can't read for long before it tires him out. Justice sniffed around, tried eating some seaweed, greeted the other dogs and humans, and lounged in the sun. A lazy day but not sitting around at home.
Today we will probably go to the Irish festival for the afternoon if DH is up to it. It is about 45 minutes or so from here, so not too far.
Chiquita wouldn't eat yesterday. She did briefly walk around but then went back in her bed. I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about her and the possibility that euthanasia may be coming soon. I was thinking that if I can get some sort of tranquilizer in her orally ahead of time that might reduce her anxiety. She doesn't like anyone to touch her except me and DS.
Have a satisfying Saturday!

Well, come on! It is the State Fair! Of course it is the wrong day to start. Do you have plans for specific Lil' Nugget pics?
I am assuming the Oklahoma State Fair is on par with Iowa's, by the way. That is, perhaps, the highest compliment I can give any state. Washington gets a medal for trying.

Good morning!
DianeO, I love that you are now literally Seeking Serenity on multiple levels! Laws of intention are on point! I, too, found Dave's comments about RV's really interesting. I'm pretty sure we have some sort of RV in our future and I had no idea about how common early issues are.
About changing one's thinking...do others have examples of this? I would love to hear them. Long ago, I knew a tall, willowy woman who said she used to be fat from chocolate. She started telling herself that chocolate makes her physically sick, over and over. Eventually, it really did make her sick if she ate it. I never had a desire to make chocolate my enemy, but it was interesting that it could be done.
After cancer, I convinced myself that chemicals in foods were, perhaps, cancer causing. Looking at an ingredient list can still curb a food craving. (Curb....not obliterate.) I also frequently think "does this food help me meet my goals?"
I have another picture of a crevasse ladder I am going to post at the bottom. I am using it as motivation, there is one hanging in my kitchen. It is literally from the same trip I will be taking. But, it was taken late in season and I think (?) this is less common in June. (So now I am worried about what might be lurking under the snow in June) Anyway, the guide company posted this picture on their Facebook page and one of poor souls who was there simply commented "I did not like this part." Understatement of the year.
I have taken up planning for this trip as a new hobby. I'll try not to bore you with details but I will say that I have a lab test coming up on Wed to find my aerobic threshold. I thought that was a bunch of hooey but was convinced to do a test in a lab when I read that training at that right heart rate helps you breathe up top. I need every advantage I can get. (DianeS, I am going to have RMR checked, too, for fun.)
Have a great day! (Just tell yourself you will, and make it so!)

There is no possible way that I would ever do that!!!

I have many reactions to this picture including hell-no: Is there another way off the mtn? Who carried up the ladders and do they ever run out of ladders? Can we have more boards on ladder? Don't crampons make you trip? Plz tell me this is an optical illusion. Maybe this isn't a crevasse and when you fall (and surely I would fall) it is just snow just below what I can see in pic? Can we attach a slide on top of the ladder, then attach me to the slide, and then can I be pulled across while drunk?
My husband says he would happy to set up a ladder between our roof and the neighbor's roof for practice. That is also a hell no (but maybe in the backyard, 12 inches off the ground.....)
By the way, I do have a fear of heights. Do you remember my scary hike in Zion National Park? Yet, I persist.
