Still no RV ! Better to get this all figured out now rather than later. I don't know how many of us look back for comments that may have been added late the previous day. I highly recommend you do so for Bonnie 150's reply to Devon on page two yesterday ! It really moved me !

Off to do the next right thing and look for grace !

Wow Bonnie 150 really knows how to eloquently deconstruct and express deep thoughts. I am in awe and learn so much from all of you every day.

Calories 790, protein 104, carbs 29, fat 29. Day number 3 of my post-vacation regimen down, 4 more to go.

It was drizzly all day yesterday and looks like the same today. I should make some appontments, get the new (replacement) tracking watch set up, and do my homework for the "savvy caretaker" class I am taking. I need to stop procrastinating.

Justice is lounging all over me on these dank days, but Chiquita is looking old and skinny. She is eating like a horse, but has been looking very frail and falling down a lot. I'm guessing she may have a thyroid issue going on. But I have to make a decision about her soon anyway. There is no way she would survive a trip to Florida and DS doesn't want the responsibility of having to have an emergency euthanization done. We both feel that Chiquita won't make it through the winter. It is hard to make this decision when she doesn't have an immediate crisis. Life decisions...

Have a thoughtful Thursday!

Dear Warriers,

(I don't really see maintenance as a constant battle. But, the mental skirmish required to get out of the grocery store without ice cream or chocolate is certainly combat. I would like to be paid in ice cream and chocolate.)

Peps, I recognize the difference between "this is just too daunting" vs "I don't wanna." I painfully explored "too daunting" for a year or two after fully regaining 200 lbs. It wasn't the same as what you are facing now, since I knew all along I could qualify for, tho unimaginable, WLS. I am beaming support and saddles your way.

B150, I do enjoy your unpacking since returning from The Wilderness. It is so hard to put the inner process into words; in particular, a successful inner process. Such PhD worthy work. Thank you so much.

Today, I have a pleasant day ahead of both fun and get-it-done activities. For right now, I'm staying out of The Wilderness by planning Mt Rainier training. I enjoy planning. It even involved buying school supplies during school supply season. (DD rolled her eyes right out of her head.) Paula, I do wish you were here to guide me.

Enjoy the day,

Shel

FYI: DD is seeing her PCP as I type this. I did some reading and Lupus is scaring me due to some other odd issues she has had over the last few years. I told DD to suggest checking out a few things, including Lupus. I know sometimes doctors will say wait a while, but when I read about the possibilities and when I looked at a "checklist" for lupus it gave me chills.

Love the fast access into that doctor! Access is an art.

Will be interesting to see if MD explores lupus....I don't think it is super easy to diagnose but there are some lab tests that could be run for starters.

Most of them are fairly basic and non-specific and might be run even without a curiosity about lupus.

One, tho, is the ANA which I know just enough about to know I don't know much about it! I think there can be false/meaningless positives. Also, a true positive may (???) suggest autoimmune issue but it might be something other than lupus. I know for sure that a specialist is frequently used to sort it out.

Fingers crossed for her (and you!)

Thanks Shel - She has been referred to a Rheumatologist, a Gastroenterologist and a Dermatologist. Plus blood tests. So it sounds like the PCP is taking the right steps. Thanks for the advice!

Greetings Maintenance Marvels

Still in orbit at 151. At least I didn't crash land into the snack table at the meeting last night. I ate a few things but nothing horrible and managed to get rid of the candy DH brought home without eating any myself. Andes mints.

But boy do these meetings drive me nuts. I guess I spent too many years in waste of time meetings arguing about nit picky stuff. Everyone talks at once, no one listens, everyone has ideas but no one follows through. At least the computer **** storm seems to be over with our new point of sale system up and working. We still need to rearrange the hardware for the underlying accounting system but that won't happen until a crisis occurs.

Liz, I hope DD gets some medical answers. Awhile back I had an auto immune issue which was causing me to make antibodies against my own blood platelets. It has now resolved. IMHO, it was totally caused by the stress of crazy Pat. Glad you could get the referrals promptly.

As to Chiquita, if she is eating like a horse and losing weight and gimping around, something is likely wrong. Go with your instincts.

Bonnie150, you may be the next Depak Chopra. You have such great insight into the human condition. I definitely have a case of "I just don't wanna do whats good for me". I have lost my "I'm gonna make this happen and never be fat again MOJO". Not sure how to get it back but its gotta come from within. No one can make me.

DianeO I am sending healing wishes to Serenity Seeker. I so wish a there was a little more serenity on this planet.

Peps, your workout description is amazing. Good on you - I guaranty you have added muscle weight. Lordy, killer trip to Montgomery County. Wishing you success there.

Well I am feeling very lucky that there is nothing I HAVE to do today other than laundry, drink coffee, toss papers and visit the studio. And hey its thrift store drop off day. I want to get rid of old glassware that I can't use and just clutters up cupboards. Dog walk needed too.

Hey Paula, keep us posted. Hope your new guy is over his cold.

BB its Thursday. Time to start thinking about Saturday football. Your team looks good this year. Mine - not so much.

Just got stuff on my 50 year high school reunion. Really? I might actually go as the last one I went to (30 or so) I was real fat so I have to show off.

Well time for more coffee. Just enough half and half left for a good one. Diane S

Here's a pic of the boy after this week's grooming. He should look stunning by the first weekend in October. Not too shabby for a 14 month old, eh?
