You are probably right about using pot as self-medicating. His relationship with FIL was much more complicated than with MIL. I can imagine all sorts of conflicted feelings but he says he has moved on from it, No Problem!

In my husband's family, the body snatchers are actually part of their old family business. His grandfather was a funeral director and we still only use that particular funeral home. So when they come to pick up, it really does feel like they are going home. MIL grew up in a large apartment above the funeral home.

I, on the other hand, refuse to commit to go into the family plot even tho there is "plenty of space"

I'm glad you were able to recognize booze wasn't your friend and were able to stop.

I had things to do, "but drank to excess anyway. It was like I didn't have a choice in that moment".

Exactly. and,

what a sharp life experience to go through. Bless your heart- even now.

Sticking my head in that's just above water...I'm blessed in so many ways and yet feel angry and tired all the time. No real world problems like death or disease and yet the cloud lingers.

My weight is up but that's what happens when you're eating chips and donuts. I went to the doctor today and he wants to test me for autoimmune disease. I go back October 9. I'd just like some relief. I think pain brings those clouds.

I'm loving all the pics from trips, hikes, puppies and baby baptisms. So sorry for your loss, Shel. And, Bonnie...I'm praying all goes well with your surgery. Hope you are able to take leave and go back to work.Have fun in Michigan, Ann. We going to New York City for a few days Fall Break for our 15th Anniversary.

I just did story time with Pre-K yesterday. We read Biscuit Goes to School and made paper sack dogs. They have a ton of energy. I could not keep up all day. lol I'm doing it again tomorrow with Lower Elementary.

I'm off to my ladies group and then home. Hubby has parent teacher conferences until 9:30pm. We will both be off on Friday.

Hey there, Steph! I believe pain does bring clouds that obscure blessings and generally suck the joy out of one's soul. Yes, yes- exhausting. Checking and testing for auto-immune may well be a path to take. Hoping for answers and effective treatment to get you back in the groove again! (A gentle reminder given in love)- If the problem is not hunger, food won't fix it. Look for true, quality help that won't come back and bite you in the butt--maybe a well deserved nap in soft fluffy jammies- even if isn't jammy time yet- or a relaxing, healing and quiet snuggle with DH --music--...

133.4. Less than 5 lbs. from my original goal (or my surgeon's goal for me - I was happy with 135). Still not really trying, just not as hungry.

Day off today, busy but good. Kevin does shift work so has odd rotating days/nights off. Today afforded us a mid week date which is nice. We went to Dick's Sporting Goods and Costco like an old married couple, lol! Well, we went out for su****oo, so that counts as a real date!

Kids are doing well. DS#1 starts a new job on Thursday, DS#2 is looking for a new job before he starts school in Oct. and DS#3 is busy with school and football.

Enjoyed the convo on pot and fasting - I don't think the two would go well together though. I think I would maybe do some pot if it was legal locally. At least in and of itself, it doesn't have calories like wine does! If one could control the urge to not munch afterward all would be good.

5' 4" tall, HW: 242, SW:215.4 Weight Loss - pre-op: - 26.6, M1: -15.4, M2: -16, M3: -11.4, M4: -11.2, M5: -12.2, M6: -7.4, M7: -7.8, M8: -2.0 Goal of 130 lbs. reached at 8 months, 2 days post-op!

So, what work does Kevin do? Does he have kids? (If you are going to give him a name, I get to ask questions)

About pot....I wouldn't mind trying it at all, in particular because of the lack of calories. We would have to do it in a room where there with no means to acquire food.

But, then I started worrying about DH's use and didn't want to encourage it. So, we don't talk about it at all!

138.4

As is most often the case, much posting to ponder here. Food for thought!

Joy and serious relief over here in SEKansas--The powers that be have granted me FLMA for upcoming medical adventure and journey. A huge boulder moved from my basket -o-concerns. Much positive affirmation of my value as an educator and recognition of service to...etc...I was moved by the words and more than appreciate the financial considerations. I mean, I went into the meeting asking for simple leave...just- Wow.

Poor Lyle- Today was hollow out the inside of his head, neck, and shoulders-base. I'm afraid I was so concerned that I would leave some nefarious air hole hiding in his person that would as a consequence blow him up like fireworks that I lost wall stability. Tried to rectify the errors, but on to the drying cart he went. If he is still in one piece when I next see him, I'll be more than amazed!
