Good morning ! Positive thoughts to all those in harm's way. Forty-five inches of rain.... Incomprehensible !!
The weather here should hold for the RV pad to be put in. They will move some dirt to the back yard, for additional raised beds we want to put in. My squash yield was poor, and building up from the clay base should help. We have a couple of weeks of tomatoes and peppers left to harvest, then we can fertilize and turn the beds in preparation for next year.
Shel... that bridge takes my breath away, gasp, and makes my heart pound. I would find that terrifying, not thrilling ! Liz, safe travels home. Love to all.... Have to run and jockey vehicles before pavers arrive.

Yes prayers for everyone in the hurricane's path.
Shel-that is pretty terrifying. But I'm sure we'll get some beautiful pictures out of it!!
Weight: 166.0. Ok.
Pants feel quite tight, though.
I feel good about yesterday, though. A couple things: I put Becca in the carrier and she went around with me to do household chores. I occasionally do this, but normally I wait until she goes to bed to accomplish those, which means either no me time, or no clean house. This was a win, and it also tired her out. She slept straight through from 7:30 to 6:12. Yay! First time she's done that in awhile. Hope it's not a fluke. I didn't put her in her "magic suit" which is supposed to muffle the startle reflex, but is also quite hot (after all, it's summer in Oklahoma) and perhaps she wants to move around? Regardless, not having it didn't disrupt her sleep, so I think I'll try again! And lastly, I actually made dinner! Well, to be fair I heated up frozen leftover lasagna and added a side salad. Not the picture of health or of domestic life...but it was so nice compared to all the fast food I've been eating! I need to try and better plan dinners bcause when DH is away, there's no way.
That is "making dinner" in your new world! Efficiency rules.
Loved that Becca was tired out by your cleaning together.

Good morning, me mates!
DianeO, have you named the RV? Also, will the cats travel with you on extended trips? I should put my garden to bed today if weather ok. (And, yes, prayers for those in the path of that real storm.)
About that picture of the crevasse....yes, that is the scariest piece of the trip for me, too. I find comfort that many of you had a visceral response to it. I need to work on balance and really all sorts of other stuff. I have many thoughts about that....too many. I will need to find an appropriate trainer to make sure I am making good use of my limited time. There is
eta....OH ate the rest.....
later, gators,
Shel

It is afternoon here in Paris and we are tired. We didn't get to our hotel until 7 last night so after eating it was 11 before we got to bed. We had to be up early this morning for breakfast and a city tour at 8:30. So DH is taking a nap and SIL and I are figuring out something to do this afternoon.
Eating is a challenge so far as there always seems to be bread, which I don't need (except for breakfast where eggs are plentiful).
Shots below of The Eiffel Tower, Cathedral of Notre Dame and at the Louvre all of which we have seen/visited so far.

I don't think anyone in Europe is doing "keto" lol. When I was in Italy a couple years ago I finally had to ask "what's the best thing on your menu that's NOT pasta." He was offended, put his hand over his chest and offered "but it's Italy!"
I would love love to go back to Paris. In fact, as we were sitting eating breakfast in a cafe under the fake "Eiffel Tower" in Vegas, DH and I were talking about going to Paris together.
So far other than being tired what's not to like?

So, when you and DH go, the rest of us are going, too. Don't worry, we will give you youngsters enough space for romance. (Liz, you will just have to suffer and go again)

139.6 (has been an Uber busy time the last few days- maybe a good thing-)
I can't imagine so very much rain. My dad tells stories of a time when, as a child growing up in the piney woods area of the Florida Panhandle, there was such an everlastingly days long lasting and heavy down pouring of rain that it morphed into an unnatural- supernatural experience and became a frighteningly (not because of the real danger but because it became an) apocalyptically evil event. I am hoping that the storm will not set still like the predictions say it might.
Liz- please beam me over to Paris and just deposit me at the entrance of the Louvre- Thank you in advance....(if you can't feel it, my wishful envy rises daily as you post your pictures--almost painful, but please, don't stop!!!!).
On the other hand, Shel, that toothpick excuse for a bridge spanning the crevice to hell defiantly would not cut it for me--brave soul, you.
BB- I remember the "baby-me time-hubby time-work and everything else in the world time" shuffle. I also remember my mother telling me that my grandmother told her that the day would come, when looking back I-she-we (at your time now and the next some years to come), would realize the experience as the best times of our lives. Truth. Enjoy. And thanks so much for sharing--takes me back and makes me smile.
Peps- you almost have me curious enough to seek out Bright Line Eating--so much -tongue in cheek- food for thought.
Tomorrow early morning am off for a day with the drs. at KUmed Center for pictures, continued tests, consultation, and (I dread- but also curiously hope for) final diagnosis, and forward recommendation. We'll see.
Pics of a few of the ceramics tiles in progress- The horse (a rendition of an old timey glass bookend on my desk) has been glazed and waiting for a final firing. "Lyle" survived another class and continues to live another day..
