Yesterday we drove along the Antrim coastline, went to the Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge (I took pictures but didn't walk on it as I am petrified of heights), saw the Giants Causeway, and walked at the Dark Hedges. Apparently a lot of this is seen in Game of Thrones which I don'****ch. We had a local guide who was quite a character. Such beauty here! Pictures below.

DH has been a zombie part of the time especially in the morning when he usually can't speak with anything except gibberish. He is angry at me right now about something which I think had to do with the shower but I can't understand it at all. He is really struggling with bathroom issues as the overnight adult diapers are used every night and he wet his jeans last night. I think I'll have to get some laundry done in Paris.

Epiphany for me: I have avoided fried fish since surgery somehow feeling that it might not agree. Well, I had some for dinner last night. It tasted great but I felt awful afterwards. I suddenly realized that it was the familiar feeling of heartburn which I haven't had since surgery. A couple of Tums worked, but I think I'm going to go back to avoiding fried foods!

Today we leave for Newry for our last 2 days in Ireland. Apparently there is music tonight so I'm hoping DH can nap enough to enjoy it. Have a super Sunday!

Liz, your photographs are just beautiful! So glad we're getting to enjoy your trip with you that way. :)

I truly don't deserve this morning's scale reading, but thank you anyway, weight maintenance fairies.

Today will be cloudy and much cooler day--it won't get out of the 60s and probably won't rain. I'll do more housecleaning, decluttering, unprocrastinating, and reading. Yesterday I didn't drive into town and probably won't today. I've so enjoyed this productive, snuggly, quiet weekend.

Today's theme: Peace is precious.

142.4 Easy go- easy come (wonder just what it was I ate to deserve the 1.6#s gain?) It's a bummer, as I certainly do not remember enjoying whatever decadence it was).

Great pictures, Liz, and I agree---wouldn't get out on that bridge either.

134.8 Woot! Woot! Liking the downward trend these days and I'm not even working at it. Appetite has just been curbed!

Just in over 20,000 steps yesterday with a nice hike with a hiking group and have another one planned for today though I doubt the daily steps will be as high. I spent a good part of the rest of my day cleaning yesterday and today it is bills and snuggling with my beau later (football game that I won'****ch but will enjoy the snuggles).

Liz, your pictures are so beautiful! I want to vacation again. Won't be for a while as I still need to earn back my PTO and I want to get the rest of my plastics done once I do!

Miss Bonnie, love your memes! Funny! Sorry you didn't get to enjoy any decadence that made the scale go up. I'm sure it will be back down in a day or 2!

Ann, glad the weight fairies are in your favor! That is always a sweet surprise!

Happy birthday BB - saw your are celebrating on FB!

Devon, can I borrow a puppy and give it back once it isn't a puppy anymore? Lol!

Didn't get a chance to check in the last several days so I don't know any other shout outs, but do know that I love and treasure each and every one of you!

Hello,

Liz, I love your pics, each and every one. Is that Paul in pic going over the bridge? (Brave man, whoever it is.) Love those trees. And those fancy furnishings!

DianeS, sometimes I think of you, and your insanely low (medically proven!) RMR. Mine hasn't been officially checked for years, but a scale my gym uses (that I think is sketchy) estimates it at 1500-1600 cals. It isn't terribly far off, cuz if I eat that, my weight drifts down. My daily allowance is almost twice what you are allowed. Such a different experience, a whole different playing field. I know you aren't thrilled with current weight, but honestly, props to you for doing so very well over a long period of time.

No hike this weekend....other stuff going on including my daughter's beau coming to dinner and a movie last night. Nice kid. Has a man bun. Just a right amount of nerd and (best of all) foraged for organic grapes on a micro farm to bring as a hostess gift. Also has a small dog that he dresses up.

Tomorrow, reservations open for 2019 guided Mt Rainier summit attempts. (I'm casually mentioning this as if it is no big deal.) The spots go really fast and I'm not sure I can nab one unless my 9am patient is still in the hospital. (Dear God, plz forgive me for occasionally hoping the patient is still in the hospital.)

Have a great day! Shel

PS, last night I cannoodled with Rice Krispy Treats. Pretty amazing. Not lemon cake with whipped cream amazing, but pretty darned good.

PSS: RKT's and lemon cake/whipped cream made me think about moderation vs abstinence. I moderate aok if others are around. If I am alone (which can include cleaning the kitchen) I really do better with abstinence. I had one RKT with others (moderation) then 2 in kitchen when cleaning up. I would have done so much better in the kitchen if I didn't allow "just one more bite." I need to work on my "treats in house" craft, which is really as simple as putting them in a cabinet/garage. (Yet, never that simple)

Good gravy! I hope you get a Mt. Rainier summit ticket! That would be so awesome.

And boy, do I hear you on the abstinence vs. moderation of crack dilemma. Because there are treats and then there's crack.

Seriously, it's a good thing I never shot up any drugs. If I had, I'd probably be hooking on the street right now for more drugs and cake.

I'm counting those last two sentences as positive self talk.

There's a movie in those last two sentences!

I hear you on the treats. I need to make sure they are completely cleared out when I get home because I will need some serious abstinence. I find myself eating more and more of the brown bread and the desserts the longer I am on the trip. I'm pretty good on the main meal, but it is that other carby stuff that I seem to always find room for.

Yes, on the rope bridge that is my husband Paul, followed by my sisters-in-law Jane and Elaine. I was the only wimp of our group. Paul was apparently walking so jauntily on the bridge that it was moving about making one of my SILs very nervous.
