VSG Maintenance Group

Good morning from Ballygalley Ireland! We are in a gorgeous hotel on the coast. Our highlight yesterday was visiting Glenarm Castle and having a tour with Elaine and George, the Housekeeper and Butler. They were truly delightful. The Castle is owned and lived in for holidays by Viscount Dunluce, son of the 14th Earl of Antrim (he will become the 15th Earl of Antrim when his father dies). Just before touring the castle we were served tea with the Mayor of Antrim, a tall young Irish woman. I think we will have pictures of our group with the Mayor ultimately but in the meantime, here are a couple of pictures of the castle as we were leaving with George and Elaine waving in the doorway, as well as a picture of the view out of our hotel window:

Liz, I am so enjoying your "travelogue with slides" updates. The dining rooms are to die for. Properly sized cloth napkins- what niceties! Were you able to tour the inside of the castle?

Still at 150.5. Not cool. I really must redesign my daily eating. I eat too many cheese sticks at the studio and should get some carrots or grapes in there instead. I used to eat jerky for lunch a lot but hate how it gets in my teeth. Dinner last night was snacks at the gallery event plus wine. There were veggies and healthy stuff and only a few crackers but its not a good dinner for someone who sits at a cash register most of the time. It was a fun event and we had loads of visitors and sales.
Today its sunny but windy here. Should be good for the garden gala in the afternoon. Looking forward to it.
Love all the pictures Liz. Castles and tea. What could be better.
DH is taking the young dog for a walk. Lately the old dog acts like he doesn't want to go. He comes and hides behind me. I am not sure if the 2.5 mile walk is too much for him or if he doesn't like going with his rambunctious young daughter. He is happy to go if I take him on a mile walk. Maybe he is just a mama's boy.
Bonnie have a stress free day. Some times you just have to make up your mind to do it. I tend to get cranky about little stuff like poor customer service and must constantly relearn that it does me no good.
Well tomorrow I will report on the garden event. Have fun all. Diane S

It's still Saturday, so I can get in under the wire with my daily post.
And yes, those calorie, carb and fat numbers from yesterday are correct! My weight held this morning, but I do expect the scales will punish me severely tomorrow morning.
Last night's dinner hostess delivered what she promised. But then she unleashed a four-layer lemon cake with whipped cream icing! And I ate it! And THEN she insisted I take a piece home. And I took it home, and I ate that, too!
I DON'T KNOW WHY I DID THAT!
Yes, I do. I am a sugar ***** That's like a crack ***** But with sugar.
What the hell. Lemon cake happens.
Today was productive in the realms of sleeping in, housecleaning, walking, decluttering, unprocrastination, and eating healthy foods.
Today's theme: Father, forgive me, for I have sinned. ;)

I'm sure He will, as I am certain four layered lemon cake with cream is regularly served as a heavenly delightful desert.
I totally get the sugar thing. DH has been encouraging me to loosen up some on my food restrictions (simple carbs). He thinks that because I'm under my weight goal, and adjusting my calories up some that they may be freely spent on treats. It's difficult to explain why refined carbs are not my friends. For me, more than just a taste of the stuff is too much, and all of it will never be enough. It isn't a matter of fair, or why can't I, it's just the way it is.
Let it go. In the whole scheme of things, the cake itself is a minor glitch, and I'm sure you will come out wiser for the schooling.
I would have eaten that cake too if that is any consolation...
