Good luck, Dave. It's good that they have such experienced grandparents helping to figure it out.

Your observation, experience and intuition will serve the little one well. Good for you to have her checked out--Way to advocate on her behalf, GP!

Liz-your trip sounds so fun! I loved Edinburgh--seemed like such a classy city and still full of character (something I think is mssing from, say, London). Plus my heritage is Scottish (well, I assume though 23 and me is making me wonder about that now). I can't hope to visit some day with my husband. He would love all the geology. I remember when my family was there, there was whiskey tastings everywhere. My parents love Scotch, though I still haven't gotten the taste for it--though I suppose it's somewhat of a requirement for attorneys ;)

Well at least I survived the weekend without much of a gain. It was a very busy weekend. Still need to read back posts. I had Friday off and so it was a very packed day of errand running. Steak in cast iron skillet gets a thumbs up, "baked potatoes" in instant pot gets thumbs down. Saturday was the first football game of the season and it was so fun to get Becca dressed up in her crimson and cream. Big win for the Sooners. Cookout at a friend's for dinner. Becca was so good and didn't so much as whimper until we packed her up to go. So much so that parents of a 1 year old sat dumbfounded and finally exclaimed that their kid wasn't quiet and sleeping as long as Becca had been good. Proud mom moment, even though I know it's really just luck of the draw! Sunday we finally got to swim some. I cannot believe summer is essentially over. This whole year has flown. Maybe it's because I had a baby? Will it always be this way? Becca is quite the little swimmer! And finally yesterday we celebrated my birthday a little early as I will be in Las Vegas and my parents in Seattle. My sister and mom made the cake--the very definition of "gilding the lily"; It was a butterscotch cake with salted caramel sauce. Yeah, totally sweet, could only eat a few bites, but still fun to try. And then had to take DH to airport :( Glad for the short week and that we are meeting in Vegas for my birthday!

Obviously dieting has been on the back burner this weekend. I know I need to make it a priority for a time. One good thing is I didn't find myself as hungry this weekend. Not sure if it was all mental because I was busy and not sitting at my desk thinking about food, or about diets, or if it's physical because I normal food but less of it.

BB, I think you will find the time flying faster now that you have Becca. My oldest is 20 now and I can vividly remember happenings of him as a baby like they were last week. Not sure where the time goes! A birthday in Vegas sounds grand!

BB, own everyone of the "proud mom" moments you're given- Trust me, they are all deserved whether it is through the luck of the draw or not! One of the feel good perks of being a parent. It's all good.

Happy upcoming Birthday, pretty girl. Enjoy!

No weight today.

I will have a busy day (I think). Have a mammogram at 9 and need to try and get 2 cars in for servicing and I lost a crown yesterday so a call to the dentist will also have to be made. And of course there is that work out that I promised myself I would do!

Not much else to report right now as I had a late posting yesterday.

As David says, more later!

Tell the dentist a little crazy glue might be in order for your crown--dang it, those suckers are supposed to be a one and done procedure (at least in my dentist experience dreams, that is).

Weight 167.2

I was looking through some pictures last night and came across ones I took when I was at my highest weight (338.4) about 4 years before VSG. I lost 170 of that and slowly gained back 115 before I got my sleeve. I remember taking the picture and not believing I looked that horrible, but there was the evidence on the camera. And I felt horrible - in pain, tired, humiliated. So much so I hid the pictures away in a non-photo file so they wouldn't come up with my other pictures on my phone. I look at it now and it's hard to imagine I was ever her, but vividly remembering that awful sweatshirt and those size 24 jeans because it was about all that fit me in my closet at that point. I'm so sad for that person. And while I never wanted anyone to ever see that picture, I think it's important to own who I was at least with all of you so I can hold onto who I am now and endeavor to never go back, especially as I still fight the food demons...

Sending positive vibes to you all!
