Happy middle of Labor Day weekend ! It is going to be another hot few days here, mid-90's and humid. Tomorrow afternoon, we leave for Keuka Lake State Park and stay until Thursday. Hopefully, a lot of the long weekend revelers will have cleared out, and we'll have space. Some campgrounds really pack you in when at capacity.
So, I've been loving the edamame in my Ahi tuna poke bowls (never really ate it before... hate lima beans and thought edamame would be similar) and purchased a couple of bags frozen. In exploring recipes for usage ideas, I discovered edamame is poisonous when raw. Who knew ?! I steamed and shelled them (the pods just seem too fibrous) and will add them to salads. Yum !! Our tomatoes and basil continue to produce bumper crops. We had company last night and I threw together a watermelon, tomato, red onion, basil, feta salad with balsamic vinegar. Rave reviews once again. It is very good with kale too.
Devon... LOVE LOVE the coming out party puppy photos !! Who was that frolicking with Tank ? Chuck ? Miss Bonnie.. eagerly awaiting pictures from your firing. BB, congrats on DH's job offer ! Shel, hope your weekend adventure is fabulous. Paula, good to hear from you and get an update. Dave.. eager to hear from you. Liz..awaiting news from across the pond. Diane, hope your new computer system cooperates during a heavy tourist weekend. Sorry if I left anyone out... DC and Alexa are about to get into a ruckus....

Flyby here- Am celebrating the last official not really, but really day of summer in white and red. After church, the makeup comes off- the grunge comes on and Labor Day weekend truly commences for me.
Many a zucchini bit the corporal bullet yesterday and was given a delicious transformation and burial in the local freezer--I expect to see them raptured along about Thanksgiving in the form of cobblers and crisps.
Diane, I hope DC and the other woman can work things out- I'm sure it is just a new couple tiff. After all, they are just getting to know each others quirks and such.
Smiles to all!

Puppy party was a great success, but quite tiring. I was beat afterwards. I guess it's more work than I think having so many people over. There was just enough food for everyone, so we don't have leftovers! FANTASTIC outcome, IMO! I ate just a modest portion for lunch - 3-4 oz of meat and a little bit of salad. Pretty good for me in a party situation.
First grooming clients today after a month off. Boooooo! I'm sure I will appreciate the extra cash, but BOOOOOO all the same.
New trainer continues to push me in new ways of doing things. My triceps still quite sore from our workout Friday.
Glad every one seems to be where she needs to be. That is always a good thing.
Diane O., I'm so excited for you and DC. I would love to be embarking on a new RV life, too! I will, however, need to customize my RV to fit a bank of crates for me pack! LOL!
136 OTD. Going to go for a walk soon. Need to get that exercise in too!
Wonderful church service today. I am just filled with awe and gratitude. My heart is happy!
Love those puppy pics Devon. Any tips on getting my one pup back to normal after Ben's death? She refuses to sleep with me anymore. Jumps right off the bed if I put her in it with me. She was sorta "my" dog and I feel a little lost without her. She slept with me when Ben was sick and sleeping in the recliner and for a few weeks after his death but now she never does. Bella still sleeps with me every night and hangs out with me in the office like Emma used to do. Emma is choosing to sleep with DS#1 or on the couch by herself. So strange!
Love to you all!
I'm sure Emma will adjust, but dogs are definitely sensitive to loss. It is why I'm pretty sure Chiquita won't survive the winter once Justice and we leave. She looked so bad when we came back last spring after losing Duchess, but then was perked up by Justice. So I probably need to do something before that.
I'm envious of your weight success! We will see where I am after I return in 2 weeks. Eating was kind of a disaster yesterday but it almost felt like I had to have fuel to stay awake (after traveling all night).

Greetings Puppy Partiers
148.5 today. I had a sensible dinner of ahi and a little mayo while we prepared to watch our football game off tape. Turns out it was delayed several times due to lightning and then canceled. 90,000 people sent home in the rain. We had to make due with other football but the early games are so lopsided.
I actually did some gardening yesterday. I was pulling up this one icky weed that has these little burs on them - they are not so sharp and you can pick them off with your fingers but boy do they get all over everything including dogs. I threw away the pants and shirt I had on since its hopeless picking them off.
Love the puppy party pictures! Wish I could have come but it sounds like you had a house full.
I also took Chip on a walk yesterday and will do another today. He needs nails clipped and brushing.
Tomorrow we go to friends for a labor day thing. I will make cheese crisps and an extra load of them for an 80 year old friend who is has been told to gain weight and adores the crisps. I keep telling her to eat nuts and cheese. She is very anti sugar thanks to her son who is an eastern medicine practitioner. My RX would be milk shakes.
Paula good to hear from you and from all. LOL Diane O i imagine DC having spirited debates with Alexa.
Enjoy the day. Diane S
