Weight 121.6, calories 902. I wish I was down about 5 pounds lower before leaving on our trip, but I guess I'll work on that when we get back.

Today is packing whi*****ludes worrying about what the right things to pack are and packing enough but not too much. And for 2 of us. Looking appropriate in Paris vs. the United Kingdom is a challenge because the weather will be quite different as are the styles.

Oh and I have to pay bills today too. Maybe one last yoga class this morning.

Time to get going!

Have a fantastic Friday!

After pizza and a glass of beer as part of my intake yesterday, I came back a half a pound under my weight Monday AM before we left. I'm thinking that some great bathroom time (the idea of #2 in the RV still deters me), and shedding some of the artificial beer blip will put me in the lowest end of my sweet spot. I was able to do another level of food purging as I moved food to the RV, and we really carry minimal extras (but wine and Wheat Thins !)

Diane, DC purchased Amazon Alexa, fire sticks, TV boosters and a bunch of other things I can't wrap my head around. I thought of your DH ! My head is spinning with all of the pairing going on. I've told him if he gets frustrated and cranky, Alexa may shut down and pout for a bit. Perhaps this neutral source of limiting/tempering him will be a good thing.

Poo-Pourri could be your friend in the RV. Check it out. https://www.poopourri.com

You crack me up! I was just talking about that product yesterday. The online commercials are a riot!

Weight: 168. I think I'm driving myself mad with the scale. And because there's kind of a lag effect, sometimes it makes me want to do the opposite of what I should!

Devon-your post yesterday was so poetic

Diane O.-loved reading about your adventures on wheels.

Transition is right. Things are constantly changing. The only thing we can depend on is change. I wish I were one of those people who embraced change, but I think the best I can do is merely try to enjoy the day and prepare for change. Having a baby has made me more acutely aware of change. Once I think I've gotten the knack of her schedule down, she changes it up! One change I am looking forward to is sleeping through the night!

Well just as I'd suspected, DH will be getting an offer at the company he's been doing contract work for. Very thankful--except that wrking as a contractor gave him time to look for employment here. Unsure what to do.

I was thinking of Liz and ann yesterday and the difficulties of caring for loved ones with memory loss. Both of you have much closer experiences. I'm fairly confident my grandmother doesn't have Alzheimer's, but rather old age and dementia. But I struggle with it. I'm glad she's still with us, but conversations (or rather, lack thereof?) like yesterday make me feel like the grandmother I grew up with left us some years back :( I was talking about some of the fond memories I had with her growing up, and she had no recollection, and acted as though I was describing someone else. And I thought how incredibly hard that must be for you all to witness it up close in the way you do. So very sorry.

Along those lines, my DSD's sorority raises money for the Alzheimer's association. She was telling me that they just introduced a white rose that the first person cured of Alzheimer's will walk with. What a sight that will be!

Not much insight into weightloss or maintenance.

Nice that DSD's sorority does that!

Btw, most old-age "dementia" is Alzheimer's too. Dementia is the general term encompassing many illnesses of which the most dominant is Alzheimer's. The odds of having Alzheimer's raises really high the older one gets. Doctors just don't usually bother testing to determine the form when the person is advanced in age because there is no real benefit to doing so.

Perspective - the mental view by which one sees or experiences a situation or event.

I am home today. It is a half day at school and I have to take the pups in for their 8 week check up, health clearances and certificates (for those pups who will be flying to their new homes), vaccines, and microchips. I could not get an appointment any later than 11:30, so I thought what the heck! 3.5 hours of personal leave is just the thing I need for today! 4 day weekend here I come. LOL!

Green puppy seems to be all better. Red puppy seemed to be headed in the same direction as Mr. Green yesterday, but he is back to his normal chipper self this morning. Whew! We see the reproductive and puppy specialist today, so I'm hoping she will shed some light on Mr. Green's tests that have all come back.

Thoughts on food, weight management, etc... best remain sequestered. I am an observer rather than a doer lately.

I continue to focus on choosing kind today.

Greetings Dear Ones

149 today due to late night peanut eating. DH buys them. I would not keep them around if it were up to me. And he stocks up - keeping several large cans in the cupboard. A loyal Costco shopper indeed as well as Ace hardware and Amazon.

Liz I am sure you will walk off a lot in Europe. You don't see a lot of fat people out and about there as they walk walk walk. Can't wait to hear about it.

So, Diane O, your DH is a shopper too. I am not going to tell my DH about the poo-pourie as he will probably go buy it! I absolutely draw the line at Alexa. Could not stand to have such a thing in the house. DH agrees on this one.

Gallery duty today preceded by a shrink visit. He might be moving his office or retiring but its not a big deal if he does. Friday afternoon at the gallery ought to be reasonably busy but I will take toys.

So DH is scheduled for hernia surgery Oct. 5. We had to schedule it around our big halloween party since he will be on lifting restrictions for awhile. I told him he had to get the back yard cleaned up before then. He will wait until October 4th!!

Last night the dogs got into it with some snarling animal in the back yard after dark. By the time we got shoes on and a flashlight. Tesla came galloping in and was obviously afraid. We found Chip- the- hunter under the rhodies still patrolling. Whatever the creature was, it had left the yard. It wasn't a skunk thank God, so I suspect a cat or raccoon. Hopefully it won't come back. I examined the dogs and can't find any bites and of course they are vaccinated. Today the dogs are basking in a sunny spot.

BB I hope your DH gets the job offer but does that mean you would move? Hope it works out.

I too have no maintenance or weight loss clues for the day. My new mantra is "keep looking for vegetables that DH will eat".

Later all. Diane S

I have multiple Alexas and order poopouri in multipacks. (DD carries poo pouri in her daily backpack)

I used to overhear DH getting angry with Alexa and Alexa not doing what he wanted.

I finally said (as casually as possible) that maybe she had trouble understanding an angry tone. He glared.

However, now overhear him making an effort to sound nicer. They seem to have fewer problems. Good Alexa.

LOL! My DH and Alexa have had some success. I think the biggest problem for him is remembering the names of artists or songs (or even saying them if he sees them). He and James Taylor seem to have a pact with Alexa though...
