I really love my cottage cheese made in the instant pot and other than having to be available at the end (about 2 hours in), it is simpler than going to the store to buy it. I'm going to have to break down and buy one for Florida (I'm hoping to get it on sale).

Greetings Fage Friends

149 and hovering. I hit the pita chips yesterday and shouldn't have. Couldn't eat much protein for dinner. Stupid.

Yeah I am a big fan of Fage yogurt. We have a restaurant supply store that has zillions of flavored syrups. Like butter pecan and pumpkin pie and other exotics. Odd we have this as we have limited other stores. But I like my Fage with a bit of honey and golden flax seeds. Costco GY is pretty good too. I eat gy almost daily but BB, if you don't like it, don't eat it.

Peps, funny about the Mean Mr. Allen picture. My DH says my driver's license photo looks like a hostage. Being photographed was always a bad trip in pre wls days. It still is now but for other reasons - wrinkles, grey hair, sagging body parts, etc.

BB glad your doggie is feeling better. Some dogs are just fraidy cats. Tesla is wigged out over fireworks and we have some "chill pills" for her. There is a kind you can buy at pet shops that I think has melatonin in it.

Today we are considering the county fair. Its exactly the same every year and there is horse racing. Its calm but overcast and it may be a little smokey down there as its 25 miles south of here. I will eat the annual corn dog but I am not tempted by the other fair food. There is usually a pretty good art show as well as haiku competition and potato decorating display. So small town. We skip the rides and prefer to look at the goats and quilts.

Cecily, Fergie looks so funny in his space explorer goggles. Hope the treatments help.

Shel. sorry you are smoked out. Or smoked in. And there is another couple of months of fire season. I fear Redding and Mendocino won't be controlled until the rainy season starts. All my friends who live in the woods or on acerages spend all summer clearing brush away from the houses to keep defensible fire space. One of many reasons I don't live in the woods.

Well life it pretty darn good. Doing my best to keep it that way. Diane S

So glad to hear life is so good, Diane. Sometimes I forget to not be too focused on the scale. Life is for living!

I love going to the fair. Hope the weather cooperates and you decide to go.

DH and I are big fair-goers. I love the weather (mid-September), the smell and taste of fair food, people watching, buying silly things that are actually pretty cool. Competitions. I never do rides, but sometimes DH and DSD do. DH lives for carnie games. He spends ridiculous amounts of money to win useless "prizes" but he loves it and it really brings the kid out in us.

Don't underestimate the power of FUN!

137.4, slow by steady downward trend!

Another date in the books and it is going very well. Kind of surprises me!

Hoping DS #1 gets a job soon. He has an interview on Thursday (thank God!).

Lazy day today. I should get some exercise in but the exercise room is set up as a photo studio this week to take some Senior pictures. Not motivated enough to go out in the cold today and do it!

Good evening, peeps.

My new trainer sure does boost my ego and confidence! I really don't think she's blowing hot air up my butt, either. She seems genuinely impressed by what I can do. She put 200 pounds on the sled and had me push. As you all know, that's not very much weight for me to push across the floor. She noticed it was easy-ish for me so on the way back she got on the front of the sled to add an extra 120ish pounds. She told me today that my cardio endurance is really good, too. I'm sort of nonplused about that because I really do get winded, but it doesn't interfere with me continuing. It's nice to feel that strong - even if I'm sporting a "few" extra pounds.

I had NO ALONE time today at lunch. Ron came to help me in the classroom (nice guy, right??). Then when I did have alone time at home before the gym, I was cleaning puppy poop and playing with puppies, washing dog pans, etc... (think of it as my version of mowing...seems like a lot of you mow...I scoop poop). Then it was off to the gym, home to feed dogs, make our dinner, and finally here I am sort of watching AGT with Ron, catching up on email, FB, and our VSG Maintenance board. I have not told him that I am trying my hand at daily meditation. I'm still committed even though I did not do it today.

Didn't weigh today. Forgot about it until I was dressed. We had a pretty comical puppy moment around 6:15 this morning. Ella indicated she wanted to go in the pen with the babies. You know, standing at the door, wagging her tail, looking at me expectantly - all the tells of "Daddy, let me in." I open the pen, she starts to step in, gets the pups excited then backs up and suddenly 8 pups, and avalanche of 40 pounds of puppy love comes bounding out of the pen into the bedroom and out the slider to the backyard. I in my bare feet and boxers was out wrangling puppies. Not such a big deal, really, except we have a deer fence on a regional park trail that the High School kids who have A period use as a short cut to walk to school. The nice AP student smiled, laughed and turned her head politely. Must have been a whimsical sight: half naked, heavy, middle aged man trying to herd puppies back into the house. LOL!

Tomorrow the kids come. Always fun to start a new group!

That sounds like a great day, Devon! And that's some very visual reportage. :) Being around all those puppies must feel like a huge love fest at times.

I was wondering how the new trainer is working out! Good for your for being so strong and I don't think she is blowing hot air, either. It is amazing how our bodies (and mind) respond to regular exercise over, especially over an extended period.

Love that puppy story. 40 lbs of puppy love.....no wonder you stay in the dog breeding world!
