Look at those 10 veggies and fruits! Getting deeper back in the groove. :)

For the last few weeks I've focused on getting 10K steps daily. Breaking up my walking sessions is helping a lot. I'm also going back to the pool this morning.

This Stay on My Own Mat theme has multiple implications, which I continue to ponder. And as I mentioned before, the start of a new school year also has a salutary effect on me. Likewise, six-months after my husband's death seems to have been when my mental faculties began to re-emerge, and it's nice to have my frontal cortex back.

At the moment I'm having so many epiphanies I can hardly keep up with them. Yesterday, thinking about how *intention* is foundational to strengthening behavior and creating new habits, I wrote down my intentions that underlie my healthiest behaviors and habits:

My life's intentions are living in peace and contentment, being healthy and fit, learning continuously, loving and being loved, spending time with people who share my interests, enjoying a comfortable, aesthetic home and belongings, managing my finances well and easily, engaging with the beauty our planet offers, defining and living my middle path between asceticism and self-indulgence, enjoying humanity's creative achievements, creating my own art, and living mindfully in ways that align with my intentions.

Of course, that's a pretty me-centered, first-world set of intentions. There's nothing in there about helping other people. Nevertheless, I'm not going to be judgey about my intentions. ;) Nor would I be surprised if they changed over time.

Today's theme (again): Stay on my own mat.

141.8 Noticed this morning (trendweight graph) that my weight has been stable between 140.0+ to - 142.0 since August 9th. For now, what preoccupation I have with food and weight is in keeping a balanced relationship with food/nutrition/scale weight. As my focus shifts and energy and time open up, body, spirit, and mind opportunities expand and--

Ann---as I have often thought, looking at what others have on their plates at restaurants, "I want what she's having..." Very nice intentions list. Thank you so much for the homework it took you to come up with the list, and, if you don't mind, I think I will sample some of those fries....".

I've heard (in therapy, no doubt, but true non the less) that a person can't help or give health and healing to anyone until they, themselves are healing-growing-healthy. Your intentions list sounds mighty nutritious to me.

The board seems so full of wonderful adventures going on---babies, new relationships, wonderful new homes with wheels, retirement musings, stepping out on faith in general. A Brave New World.

I begin a ceramics class tonight, and am so excited. I haven't worked in clay since high school, and am not even going to compute just how long ago that was.

Time's over for morning musings, off to school to play with kiddos.

Intending to stay on my mat!

Weight 121, calories 1201 (I think - I have this annoying feeling that I forgot to track something...). We returned from NH at 9 last night - late for DH, but since we have company coming later today I wanted to get home. I also slept lousy on Saturday night so I wanted my own bed and I wanted to be able to go to yoga this morning. Justice had a good time at the lake but I think he is happy to be back in his routine too. Here he is on the boat:

I've done the base straightening of the house and the second load of laundry is in. I will need to clean the bathrooms later, but I'm not in bad shape for company house-wise. I also need to food shop. I don't know if I'll cook for them or we will just go out. I'm just not a confident cook other than using the grill but I'm not sure the weather will be conducive.

Time for breakfast, followed by yoga, house stuff, Alzheimer's Support group, food shopping, then guest arrival. Sounds like a lot to this retired person!

One last thing - I looked up Diane's RV - WOW! I'd love that!

Have a marvelous Monday.

Good Morning Mat Minders !

I had a dream that I put all of your addresses into my computer, and I got a logistically routed adventure plan, complete with RV options. In eight weeks, I had a leisurely visit with each of you as the VSG Maintenance Ambassador. I woke up with a smile on my face !

Lots of errands today. Our male Ragdoll is being bathed, clipped and groomed and Atlas & Sadie are having their nails trimmed. We hope to pick up our RV at the end of the week and we're planning our maiden voyage at a local RV resort next M-W, so the dealership is available if we have any challenges.

I can't even imagine doing this at 345 pounds !!! So grateful !!

Boy, I second that "can't imagine doing any of this at my high weight" motion. I was really in terrible shape. So much more life is possible now. Gratitude in spades!

Weight 165.6. Ugh.

I have been ravenous the last 4 or 5 days and eating everything in sight. My current theory is to blame hormones which are finally my own after a decade in BC pills, which I lost after the clot. Regardless, I cannot be a slave to hormones as I've gained several pounds in a week. I can definitely eat around a sleeve. Time to get back to basics and stop eating so many empty carbs, which is all I crave right now. I'm facing up to it with my weigh-in this morning, and I will track my food again (I really got out of the habit with my PS and I need to do it again to "Face My Food" as it were rather than ignoring the behaviors.)

Ferg started laser therapy for his limpy leg last week. This vet thinks it's arthritis. I have no idea if it works, but the vet is a good saleswoman and I've spent more on crazier things in my life. The best part is he has to wear protective goggles which are the cutest...

We're off for treatment #2 in about an hour.

Hope you all Face Your Food today and have a good Monday!

Damn, and I thought those "sleeves" came with a fool proof protective lock against empty carbs!!! Way to "Nip it in the bud", as old Barney Fief would say.

CarbLock needs to be available as an upgrade!
