VSG Maintenance Group
08/14/18, Tuesday
It always seems SO EARLY for back to school these days. When I was a kid it was always after Labor Day. Sort of funny story is that DH and I were married on 8/29 when eldest DD was 8. We went to Bermuda for a week long honeymoon thinking that DD didn't start school until we were back (after Labor Day). We had just moved, so in our old location that would have been true. I didn't realize that some school systems started earlier. Luckily MIL who was staying with DD realized our mistake and got her off to school.

Black coffee sucks. Period.
And there are lots of vegans around here. They only bug me when they make a big deal about it - like everyone has to work to accomodate their food issues and they should get a prize for being a vegan. Hey I am from Nebraska - not too many vegans there. I personally believe human beings evolved to be omnivores and a vegan diet is rather unnatural for us. Do vegans feed their dogs vegan dog food?? Geez, I need to get a life. DS
Speaking of which, college football starts soon.
I'd have to do that too Diane! Coffee done right is essential!

Greetings Tuesday Peeps
Ok, back from Starbucks drive through in my aqua chenille bathrobe. Feeling much more centered. 149 today. Late night peanuts were singing to me. DH keeps them around and I am a sucker. I tell myself its better than peanut butter that has a lot of sugar in it. But not much better.
Lordy Diane O I have seen news about the floods and it looks horrific! Saw the poor couple climbing out of the sun roof in their wedding clothes. Our entire nation seems to be a victim of Mother Nature these days - fire, drought, flood, excessive heat. I am so lucky to live in a pleasant climate place but even the climate here is changing - sea level rise will have a huge effect on our area. King tides four times a year flood some little seaside communities. Our studio is at an elevation of about 10 feet so it may be under water in 50 years. Or less. I smugly tell myself I am doing my part by driving an electric car and our electricity comes from renewable resources.
Cecily, you look spectacular. In the sideways picture you almost disappear! I am glad you are now pleased with your plastics. The skinny jeans says it all. Good job. Now ditch that cold.
Well Peps, I am an owl too - always have been. My DH is always coming up with gimmicks to make me sleep better and just doesn't get that I am fine if left to my little rodent- like routine. Here's hoping you don't get some new curriculum junk dumped on you. All my teacher friends say the administration is the worst part.
Liz the painting by DH is wonderful. Such subtle and vibrant use of color. I too would hang it in my house. DH should do more of this. And you Liz should become a professional organizer. My closet looks like the thrift shop drop off point.
Gallery duty was a mess yesterday. Spent half the time on the phone with tech support on our internet outage. Credit card processor wouldn't work. Crawling around on the floor in the dust checking connections. When I get on the floor its not easy for me to get up. Note to self: work on those thigh muscles. Finally got it going with the help of another member. And the drawer count showed a shortage but there was extra money in the bank deposit so people are not counting out the cash sales corrected. Wasted a lot of time unsnarling mistakes and its only partially correct. Fortunately some nice customers came in after I got the credit card reader working. At least I got a few steps in walking to the bank.
DH birthday is coming up. I think I will plan a picnic. But gotta be careful. There have been bear sightings in our town a couple of miles from here. The blackberries are out in full force. And anyone with a fruit tree must beware. Seen any bears lately Carbon? I used to call DH "Mr. Bear" because he seemed to hibernate a lot.
More banking today and studio time. Plus this lovely Starbuck's coffee served up by a good looking young man. Life is good. Diane S
