So I almost responded to Ann's post from yesterday (which was Sunday but the subject said Monday)!
Weight 121 (arghhh...), calories 1053. I think the high weight is partially because I am full of you-know-what, but not entirely.
DS was much better yesterday than I thought he would be after the debacle with his birthfather. We had brunch with his birthmother to review her wedding plans (she is getting married on the 25th and DS is cooking). So that helped. But I did hear him consuming a lot of alcohol last night.
i feel like I am rushing around today. I've already been to 3 stores, made cottage cheese and am leaving for yoga in 15 minutes. Got to go!
Have a marvelous Monday!

This cold is still hanging on - grrr. A pox on whoever left these germs lying about for me to pick up!
Steve Martin and Martin Short were terrific! And the band they had join them, the Steep Canyon Rangers, for Steve's banjo playing was seriously out of this world. They had a fiddler who caused the whole audience to erupt into a standing ovation and this crowd, while appreciative, doesn't get out of their seats often. I have never seen anything like him. Here's a video (not of the concert I went to, but the song that blew everyone away). We all had a great time for sure.
Aside from copious nose blowing, I have no plans today. I should pick up the house and vacuum up dog fur, but if I had to place bets, I'll likely be napping and reading.
Liz, your son's experience breaks my heart. Brings to mind the adage "anyone can be a father, but only a real man can be a dad." Your son had a great dad and sadly a lousy father. It's nearly impossible to set low expectations for situations like that to avoid disappointment. I think we would all secretly wish for him to embrace us in tears for all he missed. Reality sucks sometimes.
Wait, they play music?!! I'd love to see that. PS I still think Steve Martin is one of the funniest men. Jus****ched Planes Trains again this weekend (and it's an annual Thanksgiving tradition too). I loved it when he hosted the Oscars. I sure wish we could get someone Ellen DeGeneres or Steve Martin, someone Bob Hope-esque, to host the Oscars again. Too much politics everywhere :(
Hope the cold clears up for you soon

I so agree! So many comics these days have forgotten that you can be really funny without being dirty, foul-mouthed, or controversial...
Steve Martin has been a banjo player for 50 years he said. He's really good! Martin Short doesn't play any instruments, but he sang. Mostly they just talked and were hilarious. And then the band backed up Steve Martin's banjo playing sometimes and then played on their own to give the Martins a break.
The simple task of anchoring mums on the top railing of our little "playhouse shed" became too exciting when DH disturbed a nest of yellow jackets. They swarmed and he was stung multiple times, me only once, and the dogs were far enough away to be okay. He shed his shirt on the run and all of us got inside to assess damages. I doled out Benadryl and there was no consequence but angry welts, thank goodness. Almost as annoying was that I was precluded from any yard work in the back, as they swarmed for hours.
After 40+ years in public education, the last couple of weeks before school starts still stress me out. The commercials, displays and buses driving their new routes immediately make me worry that I've forgotten to do something, until I ultimately remember I am retired.
My goal for today is to lean into my Zen.

fast post as I start my work day. I was on computer all weekend except for morning workouts and occasional attempts at cleaning and bosu balancing. Bosu is a "giant floor boob" per DH. It's an exercise thing.
Pic below of what is always on my Monday computer. (The Starbucks is mine.) I guess I can consider it exposure therapy. Can't really move it or everyone in the hallway will ask why. (CUZ I USED TO WEIGH 361 lb's OF PEANUT BUTTER PRETZELS)
But, for the love of Pete (who is Pete, anyway?) can this just be banned as food porn? Do I need to call HR?
