It seems like most of you are very busy this weekend. I am in the hotel in Central Mass, drinking coffee and waiting to pick up youngest DD to go back to Cape Cod with me. The wedding shower was nice last night and I was in bed relatively early (by 10). I am picking DD up at 7:30 because waiting longer than that runs the risk of a long traffic backup at the bridge. You probably know, but Cape Cod is separated from the "mainland" by the Cape Cod Canal, and there are only 2 bridges across, each with 2 lanes each direction. In the summer that can mean 3 mile plus backups at the start and end of the weekend, so those of us who live there try to avoid the peak times like the plague.
Have a sterling Saturday!

Good morning, all!
B150, I'm still unpacking your words of wisdom posted by Devon. You have such an interesting writing style that reminds me of I don't know who. (Ann, can you help me out with who?) Words of wisdom wrapped in folksy Midwest talk. (I like folksy Midwest, it is my roots) Plus, calling out the pull of pistachios as "self stimulating soothing behavior" is sheer genius. (I think the pistachio council knows that darn well.)
Hiking with my neighbor and her young adult kids today.
Liz, I didn't see the kerfuffle on the other board but sorry if a new voice felt squelched. Being forum tough shouldn't have to be a requirement.
I don't know what happened there (and don't need to) but it makes me particularly sad when an over-the-moon newly-thinner member quietly ghosts after accidentally stepping on a hornet's nest. (One had the audacity to wonder where thin people shop because she was beginning to run out of sizes in the sports store she shopped at. No alcohol. No tacos just after surgery. She got in trouble for sheer-wonder). I did see that a regular poster also deactivated....a science-y voice I have enjoyed over time. That also makes me sad tho regular posters very much deserve a break. I do hope she returns at some point.
Whoa, gotta pack. Enjoy your day! Shel

My weekend looks like it's going to be sort of relaxing, instead of the whirlwind I had anticipated. Still sitting in a tank top and me sleeping shorts and it's 11:45 am! Gotta love it!
Yesterday was a very long travel day on not enough sleep. Stayed up until 2:30 am or so Georgia time. Haven't laughed like I did last night in a very, very long time. So good for the soul!
Weird not to have a scale handy. I am a religious morning weigher. It feels odd to be in a home and not weigh. Hotel stays are different.
Ron sent pics of the pups having their first meal. So cute!!!! They ate like champs and gained more yesterday than they have any other day this past week! My little Red boy who has been a slow, but steady, grower totally pigged out on the food yesterday and gained 4.25 ounces from the night before. Of course, Chuck almost gained 6 oz., but he's Chuck so I'd expect no less!
I'm feeling food relaxed today, so that's a good thing. I've been feeling somewhat uptight lately regarding my food choices. I view this disconcertion as a positive. It's a gentle enough off balance feeling to promote change. Sort of a Vigotski plus 1 theory.
Hope everyone has a sterling Saturday - especially Diane S. and Tesla (yeah, the dog show guy is coming out!) Tesla's ring time is 9:45 with several breeds in front of her. I'm guessing she'll be in the ring by 10:30. Fingers crossed!!!!!

Just home from Canada. What did I miss??
I had a wonderful visit with my family. It's an amazing place and they are so much fun. My drive there and back (8 hrs each way) was beautiful, uneventful, though filled with poor food choices. It's all extra rural, so my choices seemed to be a Tim Hortons or two, poutine stands, and gas station convenience stores with weird Canadian things like Lays Ketchup potato chips. Sounded icky. But I did happen upon a Starbucks in Gaylord MI and as it may be the last one I see until the fall, I downed a sugar free vanilla latte despite it being 89 degrees. Worth it.
I seem to have lost a few pounds. Interesting. I am better behaved around other people than when I'm alone. Alone seems to imply permission to overeat crap. If I have the potential to be judged by others, I don't. I wonder which came first - my love of being by myself or my poor eating habits when alone?
Hope you all are well. I'll go back and read what I missed!
