Weight 119.2, calories 780: Another one of those "huh?" days (calories down but weight up).
Muggy, muggy, muggy! It is like pea soup this morning. We took Chiquita for a walk on Tuesday evening when the humidity was down and she set the pace for all of us (DH, Justice and me), but she is staying in again. I think she is a little stir-crazy but after the fainting spell a few weeks ago, I'm not taking the chance.
We walked along Cape Cod Canal yesterday afternoon with Justice and though it was a nice walk and got him some good exercise, it was HOT! I think I drank an entire 64 ounces within a couple of hours after the walk (maybe that's the extra pound today?). Strangely, Justice doesn't drink an excessive amount on days like this like our beagle used to. Must be that chihuahuas are bred for the hot humid weather (and he was formerly a Florida dog).
Last night we went to a Cape Cod League baseball game. It is a summer league where college players come to play with many of them ultimately drafted by the MLB. Apparently about 20 of the guys who have played for our town's team were drafted in 2017 alone! We went because DH used to love baseball and as a kid was one who knew everyone's stats. He hardly played attention to the game itself, spending more time watching kids cavort in the audience. He was happy to leave after the 7th inning to come home to bed. Things are changing with his communication, memory and orientation somewhat more quickly than they had seemed to previously.
Today, I have to food shop early, probably do some beach time, go see some fiddlers playing locally this afternoon, and get a supplementary wedding shower gift for the shower I am going to tomorrow night. Busy retired person's day...
Have a thirsty Thursday!

Liz, I find my body wants to hold on to weight if my calories repeatedly fall below 1,000, especially when I'm active. I seem to have a sweet spot 1350-1450 where I lose on those active days. My experiences in maintenance sure are very different from my pre-VSG weight loss experience, when I often severely restricted calories (800 or below) then steadily restricted further to lose faster.
Shel, Sadie would have found you and brought you home, but the PB balls would have been gone ! We do have fabulous hiking in the Adirondack mountains you would enjoy even more !

Weight: 166.4
Calories...a lot more than I intended, but shockingly (sadly?) probably still under what I consider "normal." I really want to lose some excess weight but I'm finding it hard to find my "why." It should be obvious. First and foremost I don't want this to be a runaway train. Secondly, I'm not liking how I look or feel in clothing as much. But I guess I'm feeling lazy about it.
Liz-your days sound so charming!
Thanks everyone for weighing in on the staying home thing. Right now my plan is to go back and thankfully I'm somewhat flexible. I'm also really happy with my babysitter. But I know I cannot go back to this time, so that weighs heavily on my mind. Especially since morning snuggles are the best snuggles.
Yesterday's eats in the interest of honesty
B: 1 scrambled egg, 1/2 banana bagel, 1 wedge cantaloupe, coffee w/ ff half and half
L: 2 slices light wheat bread, pkt buffalo tuna, 1 tsp mayo, 1 slice cheese (tuna melt), 1 serving mini rice cake chips
S: sargento balanced breaks (cheese, almond, dried cranberry)
D: chuck roast (unknown amount, problem 1?), carrots, creamy cauliflower
S: glass of wine (but just one!)
Today is my 4th wedding anniversary. It's gone fast-slow. I'm still delighted with everything we did at our wedding. Loved the venue, loved the dress, loved the flowers, etc. And to think now we have a baby! Tonight we are having a babysitter watch Becca and headed out to the restaurant where we had our rehearsal dinner then going to see Mission Impossible. I'm looking forward to it!...and obviously will not be a dieting meal.
What a gorgeous dress (and you in it). Great picture!

Only noteworthy news for me is that it seems the surgeon tickled my vegus nerve something terrible because I have been sneezing, sniffling, and blowing my way through hankie after hankie since I got home Tuesday. It doesn't seem to be letting up at all. I vaguely remember having a bit of an occasional drip for a few weeks after WLS, but then it went away.
Geeze- I am--The nose that is a hose!

Good morning to my safety net OH friends.
we are all on the road and for myself the twists and turns have been dizzying mostly with poor choices of food in trying to deal with the curvatures. So Bonnie and all of you thank you for your understanding.
the sadness continues of course and the bitterness between people is escalating as everyone is seeking answers as to the why of the suicide.
More visitors arrive today, but these do not have children. Lovely folks and am looking forward to having them, relatives of my husband. But of course the washing machine broke yesterday. Of course.
Almost Friday. Enjoy this Thursday.
