Inquiring minds want to know...The VSG Maintenance Group has well over one hundred views on a daily basis, and often close to or over two hundred. Usually, no more than 7-9 different individuals post here daily. I would be very interested in hearing from fellow maintainers who are here, but typically do not post. I am confident that you have valuable contributions and/or insights to share. We really are a friendly and inclusive group, pulling together as a team with the shared goal of navigating a healthy lifestyle. We all learn so much from one another ! Please pop in and share !

Have cut, color and manicure today. Back in my range after my out of town trip. I'm going to stuff zucchini with a black bean "meat" tonight. I bought a can of the Peter Pan peanut butter balls ( Protein 5, 160 calories for six) when I was out and about yesterday, without a protein bar. I had one and it was very good. I was able to put the lid back on and stop there, but I'm fully prepared to deep six the remainder if the siren starts to sing. I choose not to engage in that temptation, if it becomes an issue. I have a plan, so perhaps it won't !

Have a great day living in the moment !

Lurkers: Talk to us!

Weight 118.8, calories 710. I did eat chicken curry salad at the bagel place yesterday. They have regular sandwiches (not just bagels) and you can buy the innards by the pound. We had a good time though DH got a little heated about some water spilled on the table and was giving the young woman behind the counter a hard time about it. I had to deflect him and grab a couple of napkins and wipe it. Generally he is good when we go out but once in a while he gets upset about food or service (sometimes without reason) and overreacts. It is the lack of a filter... The three guys who were there all suffer from Alzheimer's and it is difficult for any of them to converse. But they seem to like each other and enjoy being out for a social occasion. Two of the women were "alumni", meaning that their husbands had passed away. We talked about what they were doing to rebuild their lives. Both had plans and seemed optimistic and excited about their future endeavors.

I'm trying to find a dog friendly place today. Justice has energy to be expend. I think there are places at the National Seashore where dogs can go in the summer (most beaches on Cape Cod are not dog friendly in summer). Another option is walking on one of the bike trails. Of course we have to be very wary of the bikers this time of year.

Have a timely Tuesday!

Good day yesterday: exercise, veggies and fruits, some post-company time alone, and 9+ hours of sleep last night. Although I'm an extrovert, I still need alone time after lots of socializing. Seems like my life these days is more and more about looking for the right balance.

We've had some rain in recent days here, and it's cooler - 62 degrees right now. :) Yoga class this morning -- whoopee! After yoga I have a hair appointment and will then get a (cough!) spray tan ... just because.

About the 100-200 page daily views of our group here ... I am one of those "lurkers," since I peep in several times a day.

Today's theme: T.G.I.T.

Just a note to let y all know I am still plugging along. Eating is mostly on target. Except for the bread in the bacon tomato sandwiches. Weight steady. Up 20 from the beginning of the year which is related to alcohol I am sure. Started new to me medication to help with nerve pain. It seems to help but side effect is weight gain. That will be a deal breaker if that happens. House / dog / chicken / cow sitting went well last week. And mowing. DS# 1 and 2 were able to meet and enjoy a meal in Orlando. Pharmacy trade show was in Orlando this year. While they were gone we had rain and lots of it. It was a good thing. In the wee hours of the morning I got my hot tub installed. When I wake with pain I can soak. During the day I am trying to plant the remaining grass seed but the equipment is requiring modification to get the job done. Sometimes the equipment has a mind of it s own. Baby Adalyn ran fever again. Her 7th infection in under 8 months. She is such a pleasant, animated, happy baby when she is well. She went to ENT and he wanted to place tubes right away so they did that last Thursday. Fingers crossed it will help. More later, Really, David

It sounds like doing tubes for Adalyn was the right next move. I hope it helps her. Like my DS it may take her a while for her to realize that she feels well. Oh and DS plays sick now if anything is off better than anyone I know. Maybe that would have happened anyway but he, like Adalyn, was sick so much when young that I can't help but feel that it stems from that.

Good Morning! I'm one of those who used to post on a regular basis and fell in to a cycle of regain and health issues. I'm a daily lurker and while I have not posted in a LONG time,I've prayed and thought about this group daily. I'm hoping by coming back I can help others NOT do what I did and adopt some habits from those who have actually maintained. I've gained up to 192# and now am184#. My first goal is just to move to the 170's. I had r-knee surgery in February and a total hysterectomy in July. My friend, Arthur (arthritis) is a constant PITA!! I'm scheduled for a hip injection at the hospital on Thursday. And, a follow-up appointment today to discuss hormones. Hopefully soon, I can get my groove on and see the scale go down. I'm really ready to feel better mentally, emotionally and physically!

I'm still working in the Library and do enjoy it...it really has been fun making it my own and keeping the legacy of the former librarian who passed away a year ago August. I can actually retire after this year but probably won't. It's just nice to know I can. DH has 8 more years before he can retire so I want to work as long as he does. I might as well!

It's been a great summer despite health issues. We did manage to take a trip to the beach. Just a couple weeks and school starts for me...work week and then kiddos! DH starts band camp tomorrow.

That's me in a nutshell.
