Weight 119.4, calories 886. I need to eat low this week... Always easier said then done.

I also need to pay bills in the next few days. I keep waiting for bad weather, but it hasn't been happening so I will probably have to make the time tomorrow morning. We are still waiting for $ distribution from MIL's estate (she died 15 months ago). Everything is signed off, so I don't understand what the holdup is. In the past when I was working it wouldn't matter but we planned on using some of the funds for home improvements and traveling both of which I had to pay for over the last month. So I had to tap into the equity loan which I hate doing. I know that the final payments for Europe went on my credit card which has to be paid in the next couple of days so I'll have to dip into equity again. Arghhh...

I think we may have a simple cookout with friends and family later this afternoon. DS is going to see his boyfriend for a few days, so I am doing the cooking (hence the simple plan).

Have a super Sunday!

Good morning all. Yay, rain...nice soaking all night and into the morning rain.

Yah, Liz, I know what you mean about make it-eat -it-all. Right, right you are. That is why I make these kinds of things when I do so that make it-Take-it is the order of business. None left in the house to sneak or obsess over. The crackers turned out real well. Intensely flavored parmesan and sharp cheddar flakey delights. (Yep, I had one- quality management, right?)

Interestingly, I read an article the other day that, among others, one indication of having an eating disorder is when you make big, or special meals for family and friends, the motivation of which is to vicariously enjoy the meal through their eating of it--Peeping eating Tom? I don't know, but in a mild fashion, I think I resemble that remark.

Away with me to the salad feast. I can guarantee that 89% of those salads have more calories and carbs than a Big Mac! Talk about food porn in the flesh!

Greetings Sunday Peaceful Ones

149 today so I am at peace with that. Its quiet and overcast here - a kind of go back to bed day. But there is the annual blackberry festival (read: pie) nearby which will have music and maybe some craft vendors. Benefits the fire department. Fire fighters need help these days. The events in Redding are hellacious. Five confirmed deaths and others missing. I still have to get those gift cards to send over.

Vicarious food enjoyment? Yep I think thats a real thing and not just for us wls people. Its why some people cook big meals for families even if the families don't want it. My SIL does this.

Liz, why not inquire about the estate distribution? 15 months means the estate is into another tax year and will have to do another set of returns and is wasteful. There may be income tax refunds coming and thats why they are waiting but its no reason not to make interim distributions. I am grateful for the trust company that assisted with my mothers stuff as they really moved it along.

Simple cooking is best. DH got costco shrimp and he likes it cold. I heated mine with a little spaghetti sauce. Comfort food.

Well I hope Cecily is enjoying the sounds of silence.

Not much else here. I will see if I can talk DH into the blackberry festival. The lure of pie will do it ....Diane S

I have inquired about the distribution a few times. BIL is the executor and a friend of ours is the lawyer. I don't think BIL knew that he could do an interim distribution and our friend has just taken way too long to do the estate work. There is no sense of urgency by BIL as he has a few million in the bank unlike the rest of us. Anyway, supposedly it is done but the check still hasn't arrived...

The silence is HEAVENLY. Was she just here yesterday? Seems like a lifetime ago... My dad ended up having a nice afternoon sightseeing drive with her the day before she left up to Sleeping Bear Dunes, so I'm glad they had that. Because she's never coming back! Her parting shot to me was, "I hope you come to Cincinnati sometime, but I'm not holding my breath for any of you." Then the door shut and she was gone. No mention of us flying in from all over to surprise her for her birthday in April. Whatever. Miserable woman!

Wednesday I'm heading to Canada for a few days to see my cousins. My Dad and his wife left today to head up there by boat via the North Channel. I'm so happy they are getting to do this. It's been something my dad has talked about doing since before his diagnosis, so to make it a reality is wonderful.

Anyway, blessedly little happening in my world today! Wishing you all well...
