Ha- What I most recall was thanking God that the EMTs were not having to extract a 350 pound woman through the window. Jaws of life? Nope-- they would have needed a Godzilla sized can opener and have opened the top of the car like a tuna can. No, wait, couldn't have because the car was resting on it's top.

You are so funny. Never thought of how I would get removed from a wrecked car when I was fat. My friends had a hamster that got hugely fat. It died inside of its hamster tube house. They had to bury the whole hamster house because they couldn't remove him. Little girls in catholic school uniforms had a backyard funeral for Bob the hamster in his plastic tomb. ds

We're home and loving up the dogs. I see a couple of you found yesterday's really late post. The retinal specialist found that the hole in Chuck's retina is only one layer deep, so they are going to watch it before considering laser repair. I need to do some food as comfort readjustment, probably moreso after I weigh in for the first time in two days tomorrow. We stayed at the Stratton VA Fisher house. Fisher houses are available at some major VA hospitals, as residential type housing for vets a significant distance from home. We had a suite and a communal kitchen in a huge home designed to serve vets receiving medical services. The kitchen is magnificent..granite, high ceilings, spacious, industrial appliances etc. Volunteers keep the kitchen stocked with basics, and come in and bake / cook comfort meals on a daily basis. There are always 4-5 types of fresh baked goods, ice cream, snacky carbs and while we were there ziti and meatballs, Mac and cheese and garlic bread. The basic salad seemed to be an afterthought. Volunteers push food and snacks and avoid meaningful conversation. All of our appointments ran late, there was high stress, and I did eat more crap in two days than in the last two years. I need to be better prepared next time, with yogurt, fresh fruit, lean protein.... Not to be found in this "well stocked kitchen".

Four late nights and early days have taken a toll. After getting all the paneling up, we had a little lunch. I was going to just relax for a bit before getting started on Dottie's grooming. Nope. I fell asleep instead! Geez!

Weight was up today. Not sure exactly why since yesterday was an average, nothing extraordinary food day. We did eat out a bit late last night, but I had a chicken breast with a pickled slaw. Brining may have been more salty than I thought? I dunno.

Last day with my trainer of 6+ years today. Sad for me. Great for him. He is starting Police Academy on Monday. Starting with a new trainer next week. SHE (which will be a hell of a switch) is a formerly MO person. She is now pencil thin, with fake "gym" boobs, but very, very nice. She did not have WLS. I am hoping that the switch will be good for me on more than just the fitness front.

I still don't understand the Oyster joke..... Booooooo

Gotta run....

Diane S's original post said: "I had pan friend oysters."

She meant to type: "I had pan-fried oysters."

Hey Peps, When I typed my post, it said I had pan FRIEND oysters instead of pan fried oysters. Made me think of that poem from Alice in Wonderland - Twas Brilling ... where the walrus took a walk with the oyster and then ate him. Hence my remark that I would never eat any of my oyster friends. Where does one meet oyster friends? At an oyster bar......

And how do you know the trainer has fake boobs?

Well, Fake boobs.... how does one say this delicately? Um... first they don't match the rest of her body and two, they just don't do what boobs do when she lies down to do work on a mat - sports bra or not. How many 50+ year old women do you know whose boobs stand at attention when lying flat on their backs?

Fake boobs are like nose jobs. Some are great and you can't tell. Some you see from a mile away.
