Peps

Mr. Owl was our job foreman today. He patiently watched as BFF and I cut paneling for the grooming room. Mr. and Mrs. Owl watched on Tuesday. Mrs. was missing today, or very well camouflaged. Perhaps she was in the owl box.

Wild fire raging down the road. Sad that this one got houses. The single road into the area is closed and residents are being told to use a single track road to evacuate. Not sure how that's going to work. Hope they get it contained soon.

Sleep was much interrupted last night. Ella is hesitant to go into the whelping box when the towels are soiled. I don't blame her, but I don't remember her being quite so fastidious with her last litter. Pups squawked around 3:30 am an d then again around 6:00am. It took me about 30 minutes to get back to sleep after the 3:30 feeding and then the 6:00 am ruckus left me drifting in and out until 7:30. Got up and was working on the shed by 8:30.

Cutting paneling for the grooming shed proved a little harder than planned. One end of the shed simply isn't square and getting bead board to set correctly on the floor, line up with the studs took a few extra rips. But the first wall is paneled. We'll work more tomorrow and hopefully, get it all done by Friday. Then I can do the finish work by myself. Insulating and paneling the shed was a summer goal. I will feel accomplished getting that done!

Eating was fine yesterday. Today - meh... However, FOOD TRAINING. Such an exciting concept. Must think about what FOOD TRAINING might look like.

I love those owls! What a special member of your family.

I'm sorry about all the fires, esp right down the road?! Sad to pictures out of Yosemite, too.

That must be so satisfying to be able to build and remodel structures like that, Peps. I wish I had those skills and that kind of patience. My husband did -- thank goodness. To me, it looked like he was performing magic.

And that's some cool owl life you've got going on there. I hear them a lot in the woods here during spring and summer, but I never see them.
