Patience is the companion of wisdom (St. Augustine). Repeated by a person who has very little of it (me LOL)!

I feel like a pretty patient person, but she's used it all up!

Cecily -- I know this doesn't fix anything, but I swear -- she sounds to me like she is suffering from dementia ... on top of some other diagnosable illnesses from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.

Three more days.

She swears it's chemo brain, but my inside voice screams, "but that's only been a year. What about the previous 10?!"

Greetings Fabulous Peeps

150.5 today. A new high. Not a good trend but I can't seem to get it together to do something about it. Even though I know eating less is what results in weight loss, I am convinced that my ridiculously low activity level is the culprit. Earlier in maintenance I was a lot more active. Now I sit around too much. I think its a habit from the stress and anxiety resulting from my mother's prolonged decline and death, expectations of all for me to handle it all and crazy Pat's continued meanness - (Cecily's aunt on steroids with no end in site.) Plus I feel old and achey and much movement is uncomfortable. Gotta do some baby steps - like going to the gym for the hot tub and adding in some weight machines. Inertia seems to be my current enemy.

My DH is addicted to electronic gadgets. He wants me to buy this thing called "TouchPoint". It is supposed to decrease anxiety and promote sleep. Its some sort of vibration that you attach to both wrists or ankles - has to be on opposite sides of body - and somehow it calms you. I am skeptical but also am sick of anxiety so I guess I will give it a try. DH saw this on a tv show about innovative technology.

Yeah I hear you Ann about eating to discomfort to get in what you think you need. In my case I sometimes do it thinking I like the food or need to eat the portion I have served myself. Last night we had the egg face ricotta bake. I felt full after about a 2/3 serving and had to quit. Made myself toss it rather than eat it later.

Enough whining. Shel your pictures are so beautiful it would almost be worth getting up at the crack of dawn!

Cecily, those Aunt Crabby stories would be hilarious if you weren't in the middle of it. Three more days until freedom. You are right that there is something neurologically wrong there but she would probably refuse any help.

Liz, sorry your guest had to leave. Hope your visit to them is better. I am in awe of all the entertaining and activities you plan.

Its been cool and overcast here but there are fires maybe 50 miles away. All the inland inhabitants are fleeing to the coast to escape 110 heat. Makes good for the art galleries.

BB, no clue what to tell you on Becca's sleep schedule but you seem to have good instincts about being a mom so you will come to a correct conclusion. Wishing you and everyone else good sleep.

Time for the all important second cup of coffee. Cheers. Diane S

In the moment I'm beating my head against an invisible wall, but writing it down is cathartic and I can see the humor in it. Bless you for dealing with Pat! At least I only see my aunt once or twice a year (though never before as the sole recipient of her "attention" for so long).

This is the aunt who asked me why I don't wear short sleeves or bathing suits. I said it was because I didn't like showing my arms. Her response was, "If I had those arms, I'd hate them too!" *****

Somehow I accidently posted this picture of my dogs. Don't know how I did it. Its Chip and Tesla on DH chair.

What I was trying to do was post a retort for Cecily:

Cecily to Aunt "If I had your personality, I'd hate it too!"
