Nothing much cooking-

Met with the summer crochet ladies for the last time before school begins. (Sigh) just love that group. Then the occasional stop by my favorite clothing boutique-Saint Vincents to drop off clothes and, of course, poke around for pretty deals. Kurt's rule is, (and it totally makes sense- I can bring home whatever as long as the volume of what I take to donate is more than what I bring home. The iconic "little black dress" literally jumped off the rack and into my arms- along with other items of delight. St. Vinnies does lots of good works and it's easy to justify bringing stuff home to play dress up because the money goes to good causes.

Little black dress wants to go out somewhere.....

OK, fellow thrift shopping enthusiast! Any little black dress that jumped off the rack and into your arms MUST be swept up and carried home to safety.

I had a similar experience yesterday at my favorite boutique consignment clothing shop. This will sound competitive, but it's really typed here out of pure joy that I know you will share with me. Yesterday, I came home with four St. John pieces -- a black satin mid-calf length, fitted skirt that fastens with hooks and eyes down the back middle seam (could NOT be sexier!), a matching black satin bustier that zips up the front (could NOT be sexier!), a black short-sleeved knit tank with golden sparkles all over it (more sexiness!), and a pair of navy knit slacks that matches a nautical navy, cream and gold STJ twinset I bought at this shop a couple of years ago! MOTHER LODE!

And four other killer pieces at $7.50 apiece. It was the End of Summer Sale.

I'm still swooning!
