Down a pound.

Yesterday I didn't exercise at all and took it very easy. My body is pretty tired, and apparently it's still in some time zone east of here. Last night I went to sleep soon after 6:00pm and woke up at 1:40am.

I also woke up this morning with a headache, as if I were actually detoxing. Gee, do you think that's possible? Seriously, I need more water.

Yesterday's nine V/F servings came from black beans and corn (veggie burger), baby carrots, spring lettuces, cherry tomatoes, greens, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, 2 plums, an apple, and blueberries.

Today I get to start moving my ass, as in yoga, errands, laundry, and maybe some mowing.

And I need to drink MUCH more water.

Today's theme: Get up, suit up, show up.

Good morning!

Ann, so nice to see your smiling face starting the thread! Welcome home! What a wonderful trip. Ease back into life. There is no hurry, is there?

Ann, your comment about big, fat mess made me smile. Shortly after I read it, I was in the employee break room where my fellow health care workers were divvying up donuts. These donuts had been sitting there since Friday in a baker. 3 days old. They were hard. Still, people ate them.

Peps, I really enjoyed your post about culture/big fat mess.

Speaking of that, must run to the gym.

Shel

Nice to see you starting this today Ann, but when I saw that I guessed you were still on European time. I hope the time adjustment isn't too tough and definitely get tha****er in. I think plane travel causes a certain level of dehydration possibly because one doesn't have the opportunity to drink enough?

DH is back to fuzzy slowness now that anger is over. Very strange... we went to a support meeting yesterday and have another tonight. I like the camaraderie and advice at them, but sometimes knowing what the future may bring is disturbing. I don't want to dwell on that and would rather handle it as it happens.

Have a totally good Tuesday!

Good morning, friends ! Paula, I read your Caring Bridge post. It sounds like last night was difficult. I wish I could stop by for a walk/talk/hug ! You and the boys continue to be in my thoughts. I hope watching Aiden in Ben's car brings you comfort. Devon, so sorry to hear about the emergency rock surgery ! I know exactly what you mean about KNOWING something was wrong. Ann, be gentle with yourself as you return to your time zone. Waiting for a picture of the pilots on the return trip ! Liz, glad DH had a better day.

Looks like one more hot, humid day on tap here. My service window for Orkin was 8-12. I got a text at 7:55 that they were on the way. It is after noon, and still no Orkin. I'm wondering where they were coming from ! We all need to join Ann in her efforts to hydrate.

Diane, your hydration comment made me reach for my water bottle. Thanks for your support. :)

Greetings Tuesday Terrifics

149.5 today. Not cool. Where did that 1.5 pound come from? I guess from the bit of junk I ate (and I mean little bit). Skipped wine last night so I thought I could have some peanuts instead. No dice.

Princess Tesla arrived home yesterday. After a couple of minutes of the Zoomies, she got in our bed and conked out for the day. Four days of dog vacation tired her out. (Like you Ann). My friend said she was a very good traveler. Quiet at night, pooped on schedule, learned to play well with others after a little training. Her only issue is she HATES having her nails trimmed and has from day 1 and fights it. Show dogs can't have claws. Oh well, we will work on it. So I plan to take breeder and her husband out for a great dinner to celebrate.

Yeah Ann, you are detoxing from vacation. As for any detox, rest and water are indeed best. And veggies.

So I am suddenly sick of greek yogurt after eating it daily for 8+ years. I was doing eggs for breakfast for awhile but yesterday ate refried beans for breakfast. Trying to think of some easy breakfast items. Any ideas? Atkins makes a breakfast bar but its a little high calorie for what it is.

Paula's post on Caring Bridge was so bitter sweet. Little things will remind you when you least expect it. Glad you could have a good cry. It is helpful. And in time you will feel like that car has been given a new life. Its sort of like my mom's run down junked up house being purchased by a family and remodeled. Glad to see it.

Big day tomorrow with lots of events so need to catch up with the mundane today. Meeting a friend to see the plans for the house she is building. That will be fun.

BTW, the zoomies is an official dog training word. It was in the power point at the dog training seminar I attended with videos. Trainer thinks this is sometimes an anxiety response. Maybe but I also think its pure joy.

Speaking of joy, time to get some brown joy in a mug. Diane S

Zoomies! A word with which I am so familiar! It makes me smile! Do Borders do the "butt run" while having the Zoomies? Airedales do, and it is utterly charming!

Oh yeah borders do the butt run - full tilt sprinting greyhound! Also the goat leap, bunny hop, terrier tumble and retriever parade. The only thing they don't do is the pekineese mince. (ie two steps and handler picks it up). Diane

Those are some funny moves! And I can visualize most of them, even though I'm not a showdog person.

Another vote for Zoomies being pure joy that backs up in their little hearts until they can't hold it in anymore. I miss them! Ferg doesn't zoom anymore.
