I imagine your friend who decried the spoiling of Adalyn to look like some old biddy from the 60s. You know the type: uptight, self righteous, know-it-all.

Actually it was a friend of my DD. Good guy and he loves kids. He is good with kids. He has only been around easy kids. I love Adalyn like no other but she has not been easy. Even when she feels good she beats to her own drum. I don t know why people think they can give child raising advice when they don t have real experience with kids. We have been in childcare since DW was 15 yo.

David, btw, I love the name Adalyn. It is unique. As a Devon before Devon/Devin became a popular name I appreciate more unusual, less popular names. My brother is named Jamerson. My parents were quite forward thinking for the late 50s and early 60s!

I forgot to weigh this morning before coffee. So I'm skipping it today. Ron came home from Denver with an Ah ha. His mom and sisters were nit picking each other the whole entire trip and he realized it is the exact thing he does with me. Didn't stop him from doing it to me before bed, so I went to sleep a little upset. It is what it is. Baby steps. I am not Heaven sent without fault, so....

Meeting with my superintendent this morning for coffee. I thought about making notes for the meeting, but decided I want to let the conversation take a more natural and relaxed course. I am glad she is at least willing to meet to discuss curriculum. That is the benefit of working in a very small district.

Carpets are being cleaned today.

Pups and mama Ella seem to be fine. Ella's temp spiked for a few hours at 103.7 yesterday, but it came down on it's own. I am monitoring carefully. She is producing almost too much milk, which can cause build up in the ducts and mastitis. Hoping the pups keep her milk flowing. They did last time, so I'm not too worried. All the pups weigh a pound or more.

Gotta run. Maybe check back in later.

Hey Peps, I can't believe you are getting the carpets cleaned when 8 puppies will soon be rampaging around the house! Over 8 pounds of puppies! In a few weeks they will be capable of serious carpet damage. You must have plenty of non carpet area.

Love the pic of the know-it-all biddy. As kids my younger brother and I had a nick name for such dowager types. It was "Loretta PigPot". No clue where that came from. DS

I was named very traditional and out of the Bible. So were all my brothers. DW's parents strayed from normal and added an extra letter. I like the name Devon. Adalyn is a good name. Her middle name is my mother's middle name and my MILs middle name and DWs grandmothers middle name. My mother and MIL also have the same first name. They lived in the same AR town but my mom when she was a child and my MIL after she was married. Weird coincidences.

Greetings on this Purple Thursday

It actually is cool and overcast today so it is sort of purple. Might have to listen to Prince music. 148.5 today. Ate the last of the smoked brisket so have to come up with something new tonight.

Dave I totally agree that comforting a hurting baby is not spoiling her. Your visitor is nuts. Pop Pop knows best. Glad the ENT is scheduled. And you can't go wrong eating watermelon and eggs - together or not. I have recently become rather tired of GY after eating it every day for 8 years.

Liz, sorry DH had a bad night. What strange things our minds do. Hoping you can get better sleep tonight.

Today is the day I give away my old car to a friend in need. Gotta go for smog check and I think I will get it washed. Having recently had some inheritance I find that the best part of it is getting to share some of it. DH is so busy fussing about that old car and making sure its fully cleaned out. It is, except who knows what lurks under the front seat. I found a cheese stick on one side that had probably been there for months.

BB, interesting about your husband's job being reposted. But remember that in many companies all those decisions about personnel are totally about money and bean-counter management is always looking for a way to save a few bucks on payroll and no thought is given to the non monetary value of people. I think this is why some government workers sort of have this glazed over robotic attitude. Anyway, your DH may well wish to reapply for the job but needs to have eyes wide open. And yeah, being home along with new baby (even perfect Becca) can be trying at times. Thats why they invented jogging strollers.

DianeO, so glad your mom is getting great and thoughtful medical care. Hoping it all works out.

Yeah Cecily, you probably have some mundane virus - glad its not something more extreme. You have had enough of that. Hoping the benefits of your plastics will be making themselves known soon.

Hey the two house thing for a couple is a good one. My best friend, now deceased remarried the husband she had divorced 10 years earlier. One of the conditions was that she kept her own house. She would go to his for the weekends and stay at her own during the week while he worked. It made perfect sense. She was a neat freak with an exquisitely decorated home and his place was chaos with pets and grandkid. When the house next door to us came up for sale, my friend said I should buy it for DH and his junk. Sort of wish I had.

Shel, I won't say I hope your car won't start but I do hope you have an easy day.

Well time for more coffee and to come up with a plan for the day. Diane S

Yeah I think we're going in circles trying to decide if it's even worth a gander.

They know him. They know his qualifications. If they wanted him, wouldn't they have called?

On the other hand, the worst they can do is simply never respond.

What I think I may encourage him to do is try to connect with someone in the know and/or involved in the hiring process.

And furthermore, at 8 plus years out I had an NSV. I had no clean sleep t shirts and was rooting at the bottom of the pj drawer and found an old long sleet T. Put it on and it was HUUUUUUUUUGE! I mean like a circus tent. It was from pre WLS days. I love wearing it as a reminder of what I have done. DS

Love that!

I've kept a few pre-wls clothes to remind me how far I've come. It's fun sometimes

I kept one shirt that I wore pre WLS. It was one of my favorite shirts. It is huge.
