Greetings Wednesday Wonderous Ones

148 today. Not bad but probably due to effects of a cold. Yesterday's gallery duty resulted in healthy grazing - cheese sticks, jerky and such - while on gallery duty. Really there is no such thing as healthy grazing as its still mindless eating.

Tesla is off to Oregon with her breeder/co owner. I packed her a little bag of food and such plus treats for breeder. I got a vicarious thrill shopping for fancy chocolate even though I wasn't going to eat any. Compared all the good kinds.

Liz the street fair sounds fun. We have loads of those too but it tends to be the same vendors in our small area. My favorite is the art and wine festival at the winery. Smallish but they have great food - grilled local oysters and such. Have fun. Totally good to pay to park. We had to pay $5 per day to park at the dog show. A woman taking $ had her daughter there helping who was probably about 9 years old. I gave a 20 and the girl could not figure out how much change to give me - even with prompting from her mom! Frightening.

Shel, good luck with work rearranging. You probably have reference stuff plus computer stuff to move around not to mention personal items. Its sort of hard to imagine your work space even though you told me how your place works. Hope it goes well. And go take a hike!

BB, the camera loves Becca and methinks Becca loves the camera. Her smile is just like yours. Yeah, you are right that dumping on fat people is the last still accepted form of discrimination. We need to remember that. The little girl who couldn't make change was also chubby. Headed for trouble I fear. Michele Obama was right to address the issue.

Peps I hope you get some goof off days just playing with puppies. I would often drive 40 miles just to play with puppies when my breeder had some.

And so glad for the rescue in Thailand. I need to find an in depth article about it rather than the stream of consciousness cable news.

It was a year ago yesterday that my mom died. So much has happened since them. I messaged some of her neighborhood friends who are spying on the remodeling of my mom's house. Hoping to see the results some day.

Well take care all. Diane S

Ha! I think my response to BB sort of tapped me out for the day.

I'm a bit tired today. Ron is coming home. I am secretly wishing he could have spent another day or two away. I have enjoyed my days of being a bachelor and would not mind extending them for a few more days. It's been nice in simple little ways - like making the bed when I get up, the TV not being on in the background (something I despise), getting little odds and ends done without discussions (he likes to know 'why' for pretty much everything), and that sort of thing. Of course, I will be happy to see him, but I think anyone who has been married/co-habitating for many years understands of what I speak! wink, wink...

Weight jumped 2 pounds this morning. I am not sure why. Yesterday was pretty much like any other.

Must get on my stick and get some stuff done...

Yeah, I just had essentially 2 days of respite with lunch/beach/friend visit yesterday and the Street Fair today, both without DH. It was a relief not having to keep track of someone constantly, wait for them to catch up and struggle to have any sort of conversation. Separate time is good - I'd somewhat forgotten how much value that has. We always had a lot of separate interests/time in the past.

Tee Hee. Much as I adore my DH I sometimes wish he would leave town for a few days. Then I could throw out all the excess junk. As it is, I sneak stuff out and throw it in the dumpster at the studio. He is a pack rat!! But he is my pack rat and I am not exactly a neat freak.

Hug 'dem pups. I am off to get new batteries in the fobs on the old Prius so I can give it to a friend in good shape. (for 206000 miles!) ds

Wink, Wink! This is a common topic amongst my buddies that have been with someone for a long time. We also wonder about what retirement will look like. Perhaps a double duplex...one spouse on one side, the other on the other side with common area between?

Fabulous idea! I have a friend who is older (78) and about 3 years ago she made her long time boyfriend buy a place for himself. She decided that as much as she loved him, she couldn't live with him 24/7/365 (he has some issues with ADD/ADHD that he refuses to acknowledge, let alone treat). For them it has actually improved their relationship.

The NYT had an article about married couple who happily live apart a few years ago...

Weight 157.4 nekkid but after coffee and protein shake. One day I'll get a totally empty reading...

I still have a fever, but it's lower and I feel totally fine until the Tylenol wears off, then I get achy and chilled. So I'm staying on top of the Tylenol! I don't think I've ever had a fever with no other symptoms. Have you? Weird. My thyroid immune system blood tests came back fine, so it's not my medication.

I had my last visit to the surgeon before I leave for MI and he was pleased with the last week's progress on my big back hole. Yay!

Not much else to report. It's still hot at 87, but being 25 degrees cooler than last week makes it feel much more tolerable.

Anyway hope you all are doing well!

Maybe you have a touch of some regular ol' virus? Achy, chills, fever......

I have come to expect something more exotic from you ;)

So glad you have your surgeon's stamp of approval as well as cooler temps and air conditioning. Now to finally move on to MI

I know! I've gotten so used to hearing hoofbeats and encountering zebras, my first thought these last few months is no longer "horses"... A regular virus is so boring!
