I've never seen either before. Very cool! I thought a marmot was more like a ferret, but my only reference is The Big Lebowski...

Greetings Marmot Lovers

Those things are so cute! Chunky little guys. They seem to like higher altitude. Once on the way to Mount Denali we stopped at a rest stop and I saw a marmot with what looked like toilet paper stuffed in its mouth!!

Great Hike pictures Shel. Or should I say mountaineering. It looks beautiful but terrifying to me. I like my ground flat.

Well the last dog show was today. Tesla was higher than a kite. She was so squirrley that she did not show well. Me being a dolt didn't help. But it was fun to be with friends. We stopped at the real Tesla charging station and took a picture of Tesla and the chargers. Two actual Teslas there. Whew I am glad these shows are over. Too much of having to be very active early in the morning.

Liz glad the gps watch works well. A little piece of mind for you. Glad your DH had a good day sticking close to home and that Chaquita is doing well.

Paula, what a wonderful post on Caring Bridge. So glad you are sharing your journey there. Sorry the one son is taking it hard but to be expected I guess. Good on you for doing the birthday cookies. Thats what cookies should be for -special times. Heaven definitely has choc chip cookies.

Cecily, compression sportswear sounds like a good thing for you. Sorry to hear of the credit card issue. I froze my credit years ago when Anthem was hacked. Still a bummer to redo all those auto payments. And long live the air conditioner.

Well Shel, DH took the 2012 cough syrup the other night. Seemed to work. I read something on the internet that some of those medicines are effective after 20 or more years if stored correctly. Not sure I buy into that.

Today's fun and games includes trip to hardware store and food mart for coffee. Maybe some debris removal. Almost have the Prius fully cleaned out to say goodby to it.

Hug those pups Devon. My friend Ardith does the color names too and she had one named "Ecru".

Done with coffee. Now I need a nap. Diane S

So, it's 11:25 and I just posted the Tesla picture. Logging on I saw I never finished posting so, this is what I started oh, around 9:30 am and forgot to finish:

Puppies, Canoes, and Marmots, oh my! LOL (Not to mention compression garments, credit card fraud, AC, heat waves, chocolate chip cookies, GPS watches, Birthdays in Heaven , etc...)

Since a 1939 movie sound track is playing in my head, let me continue with, "Let the joyous news be spread, I spent 7 glorious hours sleeping in bed!" Seriously, when have you ever known me to sleep a good night sleep with a brand new litter of pups? It was so wonderful having the pups in the master bedroom again. With my wonderful new mattress and absolute trust in Ella's mothering skills, I was able to sleep very well. Yes, I did wake up several times during the night, but I felt RESTED this morning, not bedraggled. I have puttered around the house. I have gotten a few things done - touch up painting in the dining room, puppy towels in the washer, I took a much needed shower, and some simple, pleasurable "me time"!

Ron got off to Denver this morning. I am luxuriating in three days of aloneness.

The joy of getting enough sleep (and puppies)!
