HA! for the life of me, I just could not find you in the picture--found the path straight aways.....it was only when I re-read the post I saw you weren't in the picture at all. Silly me.

Beautiful, happy dog.

Oh! I'm sorry about that! As I got another (who's counting) cup of coffee I was thinking that calling it where's Waldo wasn't quite right! Also, I wish there was a person in the picture for scale....the big rocks are large boulders.

ETA that I edited the post to take out Waldo reference

Getting the gross part out if the way, yesterday was manageable and it seems to have screeched to a very mild nuisance. So maybe blood thinners means getting 6 days done in 3? I think I can cope with that.

I am meeting uo with a friend sometime today to do something undetermined. How's that for plans? We have one more day of pleasant weather, then it shoots up to 103 on Friday and Saturday. Bleh.

I can finally maneuver enough to brush Fergus, though he doesn't care for it. No wonder, considering his butt feathers were allowed to turn into a matted mess these last few months. I was thinking if I can get him dematted enough to not get the stink eye from a groomer, I'd take him in for a proper once over before we head to MI.

Looking forward to my real full shower today! I've gotten so used to the other way, I almost forgot to ask the doctor about it yesterday.

Happy 4th!

Happy 4th of July (for all) and Independence Day for the USAers.

144.something. Boo. Went up several pounds in a matter of days. Eating has been no worse (or better) than it had been. Not sure why the gain. I'll get back to business soon (she says trying to convince herself!).

I have piles of paperwork to get through today. Lots of filing. I'll need to come up with a system that works for me for bills and such.

DS#3 at a week long scout camp, DS#2 off with friends boating, swimming and doing other fun "Holiday" stuff, DS #1 will leave with friends soon to play as well. It will just be the dogs and me! I do have a party later on tonight. They changed it from a dinner party to a dessert party and then fireworks because it is supposed to be over 100 degrees today with heat index. Hot and humid in the Midwest for sure!

I was supposed to get a new camera delivered yesterday (stayed home all day because it needs to be signed for) and they never delivered it! Today is a Holiday so it got rescheduled for Thursday. It's worse than waiting for the cable company - at least they give you a window of time they will be there!

Liz, hope that Chiquita will be okay. That must have been scary! Hope you can still go on your boat trip!

Cecily, hope the heavy bleeding means a shorter duration for you. You sure have been through the ringer with complications.

Shel, not sure how you figure out what is trail and what is not. I would get lost for sure (and I'm a Boy Scout leader!) Love the pic of Buster!

Miss Bonnie, you are rocking the weight loss. So proud of you!

Off to tackle the stack of papers!

Love to you all!

I'm glad you and the boys have plans today. So hot and humid, tho!

And, I don't always figure out what is trail and what is not!!!!!!! Much of the time there are other people around, tho. Some of them know where to go, some don't. All are friendly.

I remember Liz surveying I think the VSG menu group last year about weight gain and heat/humidity. Liz, am I remembering correctly that other people agreed with you that the scale went up when it was hot and humid? Certainly enough heat and humidity in the country to make anyone swell up some!

Greetings Fourth of July Fun People

This morning I read an inspiring post by Barbara Boxer talking about this nation being founded on the principle of freedom; yet it took awhile for the concept to evolve because originally only white men owning property could vote, people of color were slaves and women had no rights. So lets hope our nation continues to evolve as it has. Happy "Evolution Day".

149 today. Yesterday I drove Tesla to her breeder's house to be groomed. I just can't do it with my gimpy fingers. She is fussy and difficult to work on but we got it done. Then she got to run and play with another border terrier who wouldn't take any guff off of her. Fun time.

Liz, this same breeder had an elderly border terrier who passed out while lying in the sun. She cooled him down by getting him into some lukewarm water (not cold) and he revived. I wonder if the heat was Chiquita's issue?

Miss150 you must change your handle to Miss146. Congrats on the success. Yeah, the plains have a special beauty and I am glad you are enjoying it. I bet there are lots of wheat fields where you are.

Good to hear from you Paula. Glad you have some social things going on. Yeah, the papers will be piling up for awhile. Wish I had some advice on a filing system but mine is woefully terrible. Can't find anything. I had a bunch of tax returns and such to mail yesterday. Thank God for the good accountant who had everything fully organized in a fool proof way.

Yay Cecily, a normal shower. I would do two per day after what you have been through.

Shel, great looking hike but it sure looks like mountaineering to me. I had to look up "proprioception". I too am no good at that. But at least I no longer have the fear that I can't fit into a seat or narrow space like I once did. It amazes me that you and others hike over those huge boulders and consider that a trail. My idea of a trail is 6 feet wide and covered with wood chips. And flat. And flush toilets and vending machines along the way.

Todays plan is to do a crash course with Tesla on how to act like a show dog. She hasn't been to a show in a long time so we need to work on standing still on the table, having her teeth examined etc.

Thats about it. Hope everyone has a fun 4th. Diane S
