Since it is Sunday, I thought what the heck, "I'm starting the thread today!" I have yet to go to bed. Went to a late movie and am quietly relaxing after watching dinosaurs be beastly, eat people and escape into the real world! Sadly, not nearly as good a flick as its predecessor. Even Chris Pratt lacked his typical comical moments I find so charming! Oh well...
Travel weight is almost gone. Another .4 will do it. Still way too heavy, but it's all good. Still sort of pissy today, but much better. Today was grooming two dogs followed by house work: did all the dusting, cleaned the small master bath (including scrubbing floor on hands and knees, which IMO is the best way to clean both kitchen and bathroom floors!), washed baseboards, walls and then the upper cupboards in the kitchen. Tomorrow I have two more dogs, but not too much else planned.
I will check in later today (or tomorrow - however I want to look at it having a sleep ahead of me). In the meantime, I found the meme below on FB. It so made me guffaw, I wanted to share it with you all. It's very ME.

Good morning everyone.
up late with Devon it appears.
Too many thoughts swirling trying to figure out logistics of at least four sets of visitors this month. And some are going to overlap.
Oh well.
it is Canada Day at the beach with speeches, bands and cake. And also up at the Market where thankfully no speeches but lots of ethnic food. Choices, choices. But am helping a friend move so will attend neither.
hope you all are sleeping and Devon hope you are too.
For those of us who are ailing please feel better soon.
Feel better !

Lots of light and love to all who are suffering, on the inside/outside, constantly or intermittently. One of my former teachers in her early thirties died of a heroin overdose yesterday. Beautiful, smart, excellent teacher, she had a fairly minor car accident three years ago and began her battle with chronic pain and painkillers. Such a loss.
We are part way through a heat wave here. The dogs are loving the wading pool, Atlas especially loving helping me water the raised beds. He leaps high in the air, capturing as many drops as he possibly can. We got all of our yard work done early in the day, and sought out air conditioning the remainder of the day. We'll repeat that plan today. Canoe arrives from Utah next Friday... can't wait !

Oh, that is so terribly sad! A life cut so short can haunt those left behind. I'm so sorry for your loss and for the loss she leaves with students and staff at her site. (Though you said former, so I'm not sure if that means former as in you are retired or former as she is no longer a teacher because of her health issues.)
In re-reading (and in not such a hurry) I wanted to say how wonderful it is to see a post that describes Atlas and Sadie having fun! They have had such a tough time lately. I'm excited about that canoe, too.

Tough night/morning for a lot of you. I hope today goes better.
Yesterday I powerwashed all the patio furniture and set up the deck and screened porch. With the new deck and clean furniture it looks all shiny (picture from my chaise lounge below). Today I need to clean the grill and it's cover and do some house cleaning as we are having a family cookout tonight. I have 3+ pounds of halibut in my refrigerator which DS has to cut up for me when he gets home (he had to do inventory at the restaurant early this morning).
Weight 117, calories 1144. Much lower protein and higher carbs, now that I have returned to my normal eating habits. However, I did find that I had more restriction yesterday.
Have a super Sunday!

Good morning good morning!
Devon-glad to see you started the thread. We all have moody days. Hope it improves :)
Diane O.-that is just so sad. I don't know if the painkiller addiction rate is increasing or if we're just taking more notice. It's definitely an issue.
Had a very busy day yesterday, trying to get food ready for our barbecue and the house all prepared. I always go overboard. Too much food (South) and then trying to make the house sparkle. The upshot is that my house looks great after a party! The downside is I sometimes let it stress me out so much that I forget the point is to have fun.
Hubby hung pictures, which we've been needing to do. And I finally got some plants for our pots in the backyard. Still needing two. A couple hanging baskets too. And when all was done and it was time for people to show up and me to finally relax....a big flash flooding storm rolled in. Booo. So my cousin's kids, who are rambunctious and promised a day at the pool were cooped up inside. I was not prepared for that!
Oh well. It still was nice by several accounts. I just need to learn how to manage my own stress. I truly do enjoy party prepping. But for some reason the stakes feel so high.
It does sadden me sometimes how little food I can enjoy. And because of my restriction, certain foods I would've eaten (and enjoyed) before become low man on the totem pole. LIke pasta salad. I keep trying and it's always disappointing. I cannot rationalize pasta most of the time because it's too filling and then leaves me hungry later.
Food Porn coming
Cousin brought spinach and artichoke dip
We smoked off two pork shoulders in the kamodo smoker
Steven Raichlen's best barbecued baked beans
Pioneer Woman's macaroni salad
corn au gratin (aunt)
fruit salad (other aunt)
Ghirardelli brownies (aunt)
homemade ice cream (mom and dad)
I did get bites of it all, ut I know it's not as satisfying as it used to be. Probably a good thing. But occasionally makes me sad.
