Weight 116.8, calories 774 (protein 107, carbs 29, fat 25). Weight down 2.6 pounds from one week ago and the same as the Saturday I left for vacation three weeks ago (June 9). My plan worked, I'm back in my weight range and hopefully I am better prepared to resist the empty carbs. But vegetables and fruits definitely come back into my diet!
Today is going to be hot and our town will be filled with tourists for the kickoff of a hot Fourth of July weekend. I need to pay my monthly bills this morning, then clean and move deck furniture to prepare for a cookout tomorrow. Dinner with friends and the first visiting family member tonight.
DS started having thoughts about leasing a new vehicle. Though he could potentially afford a better car that way, I think he should get a solid used car. He seems to be listening (I sent him a bunch of links to good sites comparing the two). We will see.
Have a satisfying Saturday!

Weight is up 1.2 pounds this morning, which is surprising since I didn't overeat yesterday. It could be due to only three hours' sleep last night, thanks to pre-travel ruminations. But as DianeO says, big deal, little deal ... or something like that. :)
FYI, I won't be posting about my trip on Faceboo****il I return home. I think it's smart not to advertise that the house is empty.
Paula, Cecily, and David ... I'm sending you my strongest wishes for healing and peace during the coming weeks.
And everybody ... find your recess every day. I'll off to find mine. :)
Today's theme: Arrivederci!

Supah Saturday to you all!
I have found some peace in restarting MFP today. Picking up MFP after an absence feels like a power boost -- an activated secret weapon. Paula and Ann: No, my weight gain is not muscle. I feel fluff. I felt VERY lean a month ago. Now I have fluff. No matter.....I have the tools to return to form. (How nice to have a form to return to.)
Besides extra eating, I have a long list of undone work at work. This is not a coincidence.
Enough of that....lets talk recess. I will likely hike tomorrow and am enjoying trying to pick out somewhere to go. DianeS, it SEEMS like it would be peak hiking season, but we are still waiting for snow to melt at higher elevations. I might travel to the other side of the Cascades or across the Sound so that I can see something different.
Next Saturday is my hike up to Camp Muir on Rainier! At 10,000 feet it will still have snow. Plus, there are ever-present glaciers. It will be a good test of fitness. I won't get lost because I am going with a small, guided REI group.
It is hard to imagine a heat wave --- it has been cool and damp here. Our rule of thumb is that summer starts after July 4th.
Cecily, I have been weary at the gym but finding some motivation by telling myself "Get going! at least you don't have a pulmonary embolism!"
Peace and recess to you all,
Shel

The snow is just at elevation. I live at sea level but it is sort of nice to go visit it!
Hikers are wary this time of year because the snow melts from below so you can't tell that you are in danger of plunging thru the upper crust.

No plans today. Dog walking and maybe a movie?
When I got my discharge papers yesterday, they also said I was anemic which I never have been before. How could that be with all the iron I'm taking post surgery? Between my bariatric vitamins and the iron tablets I take 96mg of iron a day aside from food. But maybe it explains my slower healing? My doctor is going to consult with a hematologist about my PE and whether to do clotting factor testing and he said they'd discuss the anemia too. I'll go see him next week to talk about it all. He didn't see anything wrong with me flying to MI around the 12th though. I guess my theme for the day is bad things happen, but life carries on.
Wishing everyone health and happiness this warm Saturday.
