Bonnie, what a great post. You sound like you're in such a happy, grateful place.

Good morning all!
Love the positive and upbeat posts this morning! What a wonderful thing for me to see this morning especially. I stepped not the scale to a new high number. Go figure. Happily, I did not have a cow, beat myself up, or collapse in a heap of misery. No. Instead, I took in the number (256) and thought about whether the number was earned or not. My answer was that it was not earned, so it must be a blip. And since I am still sore from my Friday workout and taking my pop out for dinner led to sodium rich foods, I'm going with some mild water retention. Rationalization or truth?
Back on track, straight and narrow... I have to 'fess up. I think about what that means and it strikes fear in me. I sat and thought a bit before I began to write and came up with this: What scares me is that without food/eating I am at a bit of a loss with "what to do". What to do to transition from one thing to another, what to do when I get angry momentarily at Ron, what to do when I'm bored, what to do whenI want to task avoid, what to do when I am feeling tired, lonely, hungry, what to do right before bed...
Looking at these what to dos, I see that they are also times that used to include cigarettes.
Luckily, I have a session with my therapist today.
In the spirit of be here now I am going to track my food in take today to see where it is. I think that will be beneficial.
Spent time "shopping" for homes and land in West Plains again late last night. Sure is a pretty area! I think financially I could live quite well in that part of the country. Not sure about culturally, though. (Sorry, Ann)
What areas are you referring to as "West Plains"?
I think Ann is in MO, David in AR? And me in OK!
The advantages to living where I live: you can live like a King! I watch HGTV in amazement at house prices elsewhere and think "why??!!" You can see twinkly stars up in the sky. There is very little traffic--I can drive 16 miles to work and get there in about 25 minutes! On the flipside, I live in the big city so it's far from living in a teepee or riding horses. I don't hunt or fish; I'm very much a city mouse! I love to eat out and go to plays. We now have NBA, though college sports are still the big deal. We get big name music tours, but unfortunately they are usually on Wednesday nights before they make their way to Dallas :(
As far as the culture (I'm assuming you're talking about the pretty conservative bible belt stuff), I think it depends. For the most part, people in this part of the country are known for being really friendly.
I love living here (well besides the fact that even my great grandparents lived here) because it's nice easy living. But my husband and I do love to travel a lot. Worst thing about it is very few direct flights, but the ease of getting through our airport usually makes up for it.

I was just looking at a house in the newspaper yesterday in Laguna Beach near me. It's 606 sq ft and they are asking $1.3 million... Even in the land of $1 million houses, that is ludicrous to me.
This is what 2 million bought some poor fool in Silicon Valley! (45 minutes south of me).
848 sq feet for $2,000,000!!!!!!!
I was looking in West Plains, MO. It's GORGEOUS! It's in the Ozarks and I think close to where Ann lives. You are 100% correct about the cultural aspect. I was thinking the conservative Bible Belt situation.
My little 1435 square foot ranch style home would bring close to $600,000, if not more in my area. It is indeed absurd! Sadly, I didn't buy at the lowest point, but I did buy in 2008 when things had already started to decline in this area.

Weight in compression 156.8.Oops. So many calories yesterday and so much of them salty! Today I'm going to try to stay off the salt train.
How's this for a positive? I sat on a normal potty without the invalid riser for the first time in 41 days! Between the pulling at my thigh openings and my waist openings and nothing to hold onto to get myself back up again, I'd been scared to try. But I need to push myself where I can. I'm washing and packing that sucker up and throwing it in the depths of the garage.
My left groin opening looks really good. Nearly closed. And all the incisions down that thigh are closed and have no problems. Yay! The right is definitely closing, but it was a lot bigger to start with. And about half of that thigh incision line had opened, but seems to be slowly filling in and not getting worse.
As for the waist incisions, 3 of the 5 are holes, one really big. But on the positive side, that means 2 never progressed to holes, so they should heal faster. I did notice there was some blood with the holes which sounds bad, but is actually good as it means there are new blood vessels growing into the tissue, which is essential to growing new skin. So I think good things are slowly happening.
Not much else going on today. I slept late, which felt good. Onto wound doctoring and them maybe a grocery store trip.
Take care all!
