Weight 119.2, calories 1777. I'm eating too much partially because I'm bored. Okay, I said it. It is beautiful here and I love the beach but we are doing the exact same thing every day. That would be okay, but DH has to be in bed early so at night I sit on the patio, read, get bored (and eat junk). I can'****ch any TV or videos because Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Xfinity don't work internationally on my iPad and I can'****ch the TV in the room. I can't go somewhere to listen to music. I miss the company of Justice.
I guess it is a good thing that I never bought a third week...
Have a satisfactory Saturday!

Good morning,
Love to you Paula. Just that.
Liz, good luck with that boredom. I suppose reading/audible books isn't helpful? Also, I did want to comment that I get how much one hopes that a trial drug will be THE breakthrough drug for something so devastating. I would also be worried for both DH and myself; that there is nothing just on the edge of breaking thru (that we know of.) (Goodness, where is that Justice when we need him?). One time someone told me "there is always hope" and I wanted to spit. But, turned out she was right. Wonders never cease.
Peps, I liked your idea of having a visual of yourself that you can actually look at. You can do a vision board of you, the real you, which is fabulous.
I do think it is possible to change one's self perception. I had a lifetime of thinking so poorly of myself, even if just overweight. I look back at rare pictures and wonder what the heck was wrong with my vision.
Also, I rarely looked at all of me. I mostly looked at hair or face, little else.
But, I distinctly remember that 8 months post VSG (still fat, but much improved) I was in a Boston hotel, and I sought out a mirror so that I could see my body as I did "tabletop" yoga pose. (I have problems knowing what to do with my pelvis). I was stunned to actually see me in the whole. It wasn't pleasant (I thought my lines would be like my yoga teacher LOL) but I truly saw ME. An honest me. Not better, not worse.
A few weeks later, I joined another yoga studio which happened to be mirrored. Not only could I see myself, but I could see other people, too, in a neutral way. No envy. No judgement. Some bigger than me, some smaller. Some in clearly terrific shape but wouldn't meet a magazine's criteria to be pictured. Others could be the cover model. Just people, doing their thing on their mat.
Since then, I continue to see me, and even tho I am not always thrilled. I am accepting. If I could change that at 52ish years, you can too. And who knew that would come from yoga (including group classes!) of all things.
M150, do you tat? I must know.
DianeO, pups update, please.
Find recess. Find it now.
Shel

P.S. And at 72, may I please say that the urge to criticize my aging body has SO not left the building.
A little TMI coming up here ....
In fact, that urge is so strong that a few weeks ago I started doing yoga on my deck in the nude just so I can get more used to my body that doesn't look like Lauren Hutton at age 25.
Obviously, I would not try this in the suburbs. ;)

No, no, no. I have seen you, in person. (Tho, lets be clear to all readers that you were clothed.) You look exactly like Lauren Hutton at age 25!

Good morning
oh Liz I hear ya! Boredom is a huge problem for many of us I would think. But all that walking will be building muscle.
Made marmalade last evening and am not a fan of the recipe. It is hard to mess up marmalade but this is just meh.
Volunteering, laundry, meeting a friend for tea, weeding, and vacuuming. My life today.
Thinking of you Paula.
Enjoy this Saturday.

Shel- Tatting?...Pulleeeeze! You must have me confused with someone who can count and pays attention to what she is doing when doing it. I stitch strictly for entertainment purposes only.
On the other hand- some examples of hand work that will go into my quilt. (The tatting compliments of DHs great auntie, the hand lace sampler was constructed by GGma Ida as a young girl-there are 25 distinctive blocks inside of that not even a 3 by 3 inch square. Some of the paper it was worked on remains on the back. Blows me away every time I look at it.
Thank
