How goes the Great Pantry Purge of 2018?

Purged! But not yet put back together. I did take a before pic of our two main pull out drawers. The garage has the major big things - paper towels, dog foods, canned broths, etc...

I am amazed by the CRAP I had in those pull outs! I was reminded by some of my post VSG eating phases, e.g. HOT SAUCES. I poured out 4 bottles of super duper hot sauces that became too hot after the phase ended! LOL!

Wow!!!! Great job! I see similarities between your pantry before and my pantry...

Happy Wednesday,

I, too, find my thought wondering to Paula and Ben.

My parents are coming into town tomorrow and will stay with my sister. My niece is graduating from HS. We will also celebrate my parent's 60th wedding anniversary while they are here. It will be nice to see all of the family. I wish that I saw more of my sister's family, in general. They live just about 5 miles away. It just wasn't meant to be, I guess. Family dynamics can be so difficult to navigate.

I'm hoping the whole group has a good day. DianeO, so glad that Atlas appears to be on the upswing and Sadie will also be in good hands.

Weight in compression: 154.8. I think I OD'd on salt yesterday. My compression garments were particularly compressing this morning. Felt like a sausage in a too small casing.

Dinner with the friends was nice last night. It was good to get out. We went to a Mediterranean place that does delicious kebabs and salads. I got a salmon kebab and will have the leftoverd for dinner tonight.

Had my half shower again. Felt half great. Groin wounds are still gory, but really filling in. I have no new waist openings, but jeez louise the one on my rear hip is just a giant 2" wide crater into my inner abyss. I bet it would echo if you shouted into it. It will be very interesting to see how long that will take to fill in. Ages I suspect.

My Dad had his quarterly check at the Mayo Clinic yesterday. They said his scans looked good (thank God). They did see a very small spot in his urethra they will watch closely, but currently no treatment will happen for that. So that is all good news. They work by the theory that if the cancer stays in the urinary tract they can manage it. If it leaps the boundary again like it did to his lymph nodes that resulted in his chemo and radiation, there isn't anything they will be able to do. So given a 5 year survival rate of 14%, right now he's on the lotto winning side of those odds. Knock on wood and many prayers he stays there!

Low key day planned here. A short dog walk with my no-bending-required poop scooping stick (thanks, Amazon!) is all that's in the cards.

May you all find your scrub oaks un*****ly and not scary...

Greetings Wednesday Peace Seekers

Reminding myself not to greet us as "warriors". Life should not be a battle though for some people I guess it truly is. Ours are indeed first world problems. I am grateful I don't have to walk two miles to carry a jug of water home on my head.

Down a half to 149.5. Glad for that. I made tuna salad last night from Wild Planet sustainably caught tuna. I think it tastes better. A local product.

Gee there is lots going on here. Diane O, I sure hope your dogs get well soon. Its scary when a young dog gets sick. Or an old one. My vet always asks if my dog could have gotten into any compost when it has tummy troubles. I guess there are some nasty germs in it.

Solar Peps! How cool is that! Hope you are delving into a relaxing summer (that is until pups arrive).

Liz, sorry the drug trial discontinued. Still you helped establish some knowledge. Shel is right - an Alzheimers drug will be a gold mine so much research must be underway.

Hey in my endless emails from New Harbinger Publications I saw a book called "Suffering is Optional" apparently about how to stop beating yourself up. Might be worth looking into. As soon as I get around to ordering the procrastination book.

Carbon, sorry you are not sleeping. You might get some sleepy time herb tea which is more of a ritual thing.

BB I hear you on feeling coerced into a trip. But it will probably end up being fun. As for the bathing suit dilemma, there will probably be loads of other people around who are far from being swim suit models. You will have a cute cover up most of the time anyway to avoid sun burn.

Bonnie150 the quilt sounds beautiful. We have some quilts made by my grandmother from scraps from the clothes she made for my mom as a kid. A great project. Do you do the quilting yourself or have someone do it?

Gallery meeting tonight where we try to implement the new system. But its always kind of a ****tail party and I bet people get too buzzed to care.

My brother is out in the midwest preparing to clean out my mom's last bastion of junk - two storage units. They appear to be full of just old papers as we suspected. All going to the recycle. The estate should get closed out this month which leaves only a final tax return to do. Then I can box up all these papers and store them until I forget what they are and then toss.

Ann, glad you connected with your friend. A great thing to do at this age and stage of life.

Congrats on the pay off of the mortgage Shel. A big milestone. Yay for financial stability.

And yay for coffee. Time for more. Diane S
