Hello again my friend! Thank you for sharing this with me. So interesting how off handed remarks can become nuggets of wisdom. Ive had that experience countless times too.

I do see my thin roots as a natural advantage, but I also believe that those of us without this life experience can reorganize their thought patterns with practice.

Reflecting further on that, Im no longer buying into some of the old thought patterns around psychological addiction. Not to suggest that the food addiction stuff isnt helpful, but for me, Ive found it important to limit its application to the physical aspects (carbs light up the seeking? part of my brain).

Hence I do best when I limit or avoid carbs because my brain (thinking) remains calm. When I indulge, I must prepare myself for the strong physical (rather than psychological) urge to continue eating. Not sure that makes complete sense, but maybe my ramblings will help you or someone else here.

ps - upon editing, what's up with the question marks appearing instead of apostrophes?
