There's a town inland from me that used to be full of dairy cows and horses (some horses left, but the cows have since been replaced by houses). I was talking to a man while at work one day who was giving me his address in this town. As we had offices all over the country he could have been talking to I said, "oh I know where that is. There are a lot of cows there". He said, "I tell people go east 'til you smell it, then north 'til you step in it!" Perfectly described his location!
Hunger abated (at least yesterday), and I expected to see the approximately same number on the scales, but, no. 154.4-- down some more- so, maybe there is no correlation between the two.
Did discover the joy of egg salad made with a thick Greek yogurt, avacado, celery mix. Kurt's Romain lettuce makes the wrap. So nummy.
Up early to get the new batch of yogurt going- then DS and I are off to visit the arboretum for a good stroll, followed by a visit to my favorite clothing emporium, Saint Vincents. Today is sack sale day. Fill a sack for a whopping $3.00. This place has spoiled me for regular retail. I just refuse to pay the outrageous price, plus, I figure if I can recycle gently (and often upscale-if not the latest style) clothing, my "consumption footprint" is a bit smaller.
To end the outing, I'll pick up what is needed for DS#2's birthday dinner--he requested Mexican fiesta. I get to pull out all the wonderful recipes I have from when I lived in Laredo many years ago except I'll draw the line at the homemade tortillas (too much bother). Cheesecake and DH's homemade ice cream for desert.
Time to put the milk in its yogurt nest to ripen. Enjoy the people you encounter today, do some good, heal well. Remember every day we are playing with house money- spend it ALL, and with out fear and worry. If we are here on earth tomorrow, God will give us some more.

Good morning!
More pups for Peps! That makes me happy tho I am still sad about Tank.
I'll work from home a bit today, otherwise I am off work til Monday. Yesterday I was productive; so productive that I felt like I was channeling Paula. Paula-Productive! I have been working on deep cleaning portions of the house/garage and yesterday I finally turned the corner. Lots of stuff to Good Will, some to dry cleaners. The carpet cleaners come tomorrow. (DD still hasn't prepped her room but I'm not going to think about that til 6pm. Let's all say a little prayer that I don't have to step in. I don't care all that much but DD would care an awful lot.)
Liz, I'm looking forward to your trip! Dave, enjoy being a farmer for a few days. Time to push laundry and then out for a local hike to push muscles. Rain is coming so likely no hiking this weekend.
Let that grass grow and find some recess.
Shel
PS Paula, hugs to you. Cecily, thinking of you, too....is your appt today?

It is all about his testicles :) One didn't descend (if I remember correctly) which means he won't be a show dog. Peps was pondering if he would keep him as a pet or place him in a new home.

There is yet another threat at DD's Highschool today. This is the 4th time in a month that the local police will have a presence at the school. They spent the night searching the school looking for planted weapons. This morning the students, packs, gear, bags, and instrument cases will be searched upon entry.
I (presume, in my own Ostrich way) that all will be safe. But this culture brings me to tears.

Hospice nurse reported that we are now in the "active" phase of dying. Weeks (at the most) left. Hospice with come every other day now. Ben hasn't eaten for 2 days, only liquids and today even liquids are proving to be difficult. Pain is being controlled with morphine, dose is being increased. He's ready to go. Hope God grants him a fairly quick and painless goodbye and gives me the energy to continue to care for him.
