Not much after yesterday's novel. Trimming an Airedale in a few. Power washing this afternoon. Have to get Dottie and Ace trimmed for next weekend, too.

Took a nap yesterday. Enjoyed it immensely, but it wreaked havoc on my sleep at bedtime. I was awake on and off all night, too. Boooo....

Shel, I will check out the article. Maybe there will be a tidbit in there...

Now if only you could combine power washing and dog washing and be done in half the time...

Quick check-in. Sleeping a lot....right along with Ben. Must be the emotional stress that is causing the fatigue. I can easily sleep 10-11 hours at night and still feel tired when I wake up. My days are spent taking care of my love, cleaning and surfing the internet. I could really go for some good sushi. Eating has been crap. I've mostly been snacking - very few real meals as of late. A handful of pita chips, a drumstick, a Sargento cheese and nut snack pack, a salad, lots of sal****er taffy pieces and of course coffee. Protein is way down I am sure. I do still eat a protein bar for breakfast every morning though.

Thank you all for your kind words and for thinking of us.

So glad you checked in Paula. Sleeping a lot is probably the best thing you can do. Thinking of you always. DS

Sleeping sounds exactly right for this surreal time. May the sushi fairy find you.

Emotional stress can definitely do you in.

Maybe mention su****o a friend/neighbor and perhaps they can pick you up some? Sometimes people are afraid to intrude at this point and save their food deliveries until later, but perhaps you could send out some requests? People will feel good helping you at this tough time.

Greetings Sunday Buddies

Still at 149. Yesterday at the gallery some chocolate cookies flew into my mouth. I felt compelled to eat the broken ones. Total of probably three cookies which was three more than I needed. A man came in late in the day and ate one and commented on how good they were. I told him to eat all he wanted and take some because they were going to get tossed. So he ate quite a few. A slim guy. That saved me from eating more.

It was a good gallery day as part of the Open Studios event and I sold about 5 of my items plus lots of other people's stuff. It was good to be busy. And I met a man who has the same hand disease as me and I referred him to my hand surgeon in Larkspur and it turns out this guy grew up there. He said "I came in here to look at art but got all kinds of good information". Turns out he is a very active local redwood conservationist.

Looks like a fun hike Shel. Beware of parking lot rage which is almost worse than road rage. And hey the NYT article was a good one.

Motown dance festival sounds like fun Ann. Its my favorite music and I have loads of discs. I once attended a concert of both the Temptations and the Four Tops. The cd player in the Prius broke a long time ago by eating a disc of Les Miz. So I didn't have music much in the car until now that we have a new one. It has a trial period of Sirius radio and yesterday I was on the all Beatles channel.

Well Dave, sounds like you are living in MowTown. That would be hell to me but glad you are able to get out and do it. Hope your procedure goes well and that Adalyn gets beyond the ear infections.

Irish festival sound fun. Thats where the bangers and mash should be, not at Carbon's kinda fancy restaurant. Well, if you went to Tibet, a burger and fries would be ethnic food.

Well Cecily, I think your surgeon should go sponge himself.

Not sure whats in store for today. I shall contemplate that while having more coffee. Diane S

There is certainly stuff in the article that applies to me. For example, being ultra critical (self-shaming) for only getting 3 of 5 tasks done makes it more likely one won't get those last 2 tasks done. (I am currently avoiding a particular task this very moment!)

Your new car sounds like good fun. Drive it to a giant Redwood and soak up the ambience.
