Weight 115.2, calories 702. For the last week I have cut out my afternoon snack and had decaf coffee instead. At night am having full-fat yogurt as a snack which fills me up incredibly. So I've been less hungry than usual. I'm about at the same point with my weight as I was 6 days prior to Aruba departure last year, so hopefully I will be able to stay within my range while there again. They have a scale in the exercise room which I used daily last year (though I had to weigh in my bathing suit, not naked, LOL).
I am taking DH to an Irish festival mid-day and meeting friends from our former hometown there. DH loves Irish music, so it should be an enjoyable day. It is sunny and will be in the mid-60's, so comfortable though a bit cool.
Today is the date of Ben's last goal. I pray for peace for Ben and his family. Have a sobering Sunday.

Mowed most of the day yesterday, it was too hot to eat. But I drank a gallon of water. And tried to catch up on my eating all evening. One lot was chest high but I took my time and mowed it twice. And mowed 2 properties. In town lots. Took the mower back to DS#1 with a flat. I think I mowed over some glass. He has foam in most of his equipment so he does not have to deal with flats.
Adalyn is finally recovering from ear infection. I think it made it into the inner ear because she would arch her back and twist her head like she was trying to correct her balance. She loves sitting in her pool in a bathing chair. She is baby talking to her toys and has the flipping from front to back down pat. Have to watch her close or she will roll off. I am extra careful because I dropped DS#1 of the edge of the bed into a box of diapers when he was about a month old. We both cried.
I have procedure on my left side on Tuesday. Then a week of babying it. Do not know if it is worth it yet. Going to do this one without sedation so I can have coffee before the procedure.
Thoughts and prayers to Paula and family. More later, David

Good morning everyone.
David, am dense, but what is " foam so he doesn't get flats?". All that mowing! Wow!
Hope that the wounds are healing and don't worry with healing will come confidence to be out and about. But in the meantime a sympathetic " ouch" from me.
And enjoy the Irish music, sounds marvellous.
Friends and myself went up to a sorta kinda fancy restaurant yesterday for dinner and while the site is beautiful the food less so. The others raved especially about th dessert that looked yummy but I passed. Getting very fussy in my old age. The advertisements promised a " new " ethnic menu and that turned out to be the British stand by of " bangers and mash " which is sausages and mashed potatoes. I used to live in England and was startled to realize that that dish was considered ethnic.
Have a great Sunday. Paula, thinking of you.
LOL! Bangers and mash in a "fancy" restaurant?

Paula and Ben, today, as always, you and the boys are in my thoughts.
Liz, I'm also focused a bit on pre-vacation weight loss. It now seems that my lightest weight since the Ireland trip (132.2 last Sunday) was an anomaly. But I've got four weeks to get there, so goody. :)
David, chest-high grass! Wow, that would be tough. That's probably what I will face after my neighbor does the first haying in the field I've loaned him. Cleanup is always a big chore. And, as you know, you can't see anything that's down under all that mess. #CountryLife
Carbon, I'd be really pissed if a fancy restaurant offered me bangers and mash. Boo!
Yesterday morning here started with me mowing in a bathing suit and working on my Mediterranean tan. Then I came in for lunch and found an old iPod crammed with 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s tunes. I hooked it up to a Bose iPod speaker on the porch and danced for at least an hour. The birds, neighbors' cows, and I enjoyed especially the stylings of Marvin Gaye and the Neville Brothers. :)
After the danceathon, I was inspired to put on a sundress baring my surgically unenhanced arms, drive to town for an ice cream cone, and stroll around some weekend music festival venues. I also met some candidates for circuit judge and decided for whom I'll vote and bought some $5 earrings. I came home to enjoy the breeze on the deck, Saturday night NPR, and a glass of wine. I was asleep by eight o'clock. All told, it was an excellent day.
Today is another typical summer day--a final bit of mowing, housecleaning, laundry, and paperwork. And this afternoon I get to read more of this month's book club selection--A Gentleman in Moscow. Loving it!
Today's theme: Summertime, and the livin' is easy.

I came across a bunch of old CD's yesterday including a multi-disc collection of Motown ....I need to get them into my iTunes before I no longer have the technology to make it happen.

Some few years ago, I got a device that lets me transfer vinyl records to computer with the intention being- when the music got moved I could then get rid of all the bulky albums. Fast forward to today- vinyl still here- slap it on the platter and turn the volume way up. --let them go? Can't do it.

Me either! I have a huge record collection (keeps growing as people want to get rid of records...?). I just think vinyl with some great speakers cannot be beat.
Kids these days surprise me. We couldn't wait to get bigger and bigger tv screens (and hopefully flat!) and better and better quality (blu ray > dvd> laser discs >vcr tapes). And what do these kids do? They watch the worst quality videos on their iphones!! Shakes my head.
I totally agree with you on the sound quality. I don't know if it's better- just that it is different.- like, the CDs or whatever are copies or clones - doppelgänger- there for not real. Give me a crackle-a pop, even an occasional skip---Give me vinyl!
