Happy June everybody !! Cecily's post yesterday made me smile for hours ! Shower, shave and house cleaning... the trifecta !! Congratulations, Lady ! Dave, great to hear from you, and hope the babe has relief soon ! Glad your back is a bit better!

I'm holding on to two thoughts from yesterday... absorb and amplify . My focus for June will be to absorb positive energy and amplify it. My energy is always available to anyone who wants it for good, as sharing replenishes it. That makes me think of Paula, Ben and family. Hugs, love and light as you take one day at a time and make lasting memories.

Happy June.

Not weighing today. I fear I will dislike it. Maybe even 170. Got to get this under control. I've had several things going on, most upsetting of which is a legitimate hunger again. Heck, I'm hungry right now!! Idk if it's that I need to be hungry for a little while to adapt, or if I'm just not eating filling foods, or both. Next, these past few days have been quite busy. I cannot recall if I'd mentioned my husband has a consulting job for the next few months that will take him to texas for work one week, and back here to work for one week. Getting all that set up plus trying to clean out the home office has been a task! He starts Monday.

I'm going to have to learn how to cook healthily for 1! I love to cook, but I dislike cooking for just myself. I'd also like to get back to working out. Unfortunately the gym I grew to like last year has terrible child watch hours---basically only good for stay at home moms! The Y has a great childwatch and is great for kids, but I'm not sure I'll love it and they get quite busy in their childcare and have to put you on a waitlist, and if your baby cries for more than 15 minutes (and since they're so busy, they can't really console), you have to leave. The other one with childcare isn't as great, but I'm wondering if it'd be more available since most moms choose the Y? Plus, with DH gone it would be really nice to get out and do something healthy...and maybe have Becca be watched by someone else.

Anyone know anything about gardening? I have a basic long, thin, rectangular flower bed in my backyard that I want to do some planting in. I'd really like to find a website with designs, but I think I'm pretty limited since it's only about 2 ft. wide.

Onward and upward with calorie counting today. Found my old weigh****chers stuff in the study. I keep hanging on to it though idk why. I do like their philosophy, but I needed really help--surgery.

I'm a brown thumb when it comes to gardening. I do okay with basic simple plants in pots, but haven't extended beyond that though I want to try tomatoes in a large raised bed this year.

I like weigh****chers too. I think they generally have sound plans and adapt well as new information about dieting evolves. However I too couldn't stick with it until I had my extra "tool". I actually would think about using WW if I had enough regain to warrant it.

My vegetable "garden" is a strip. I'll paste pics tonight or tomorrow but don't get excited with anticipation. I just do my best (which isn't all that great!)

Small gardens are a thing.....I think you will find pics on the web

Square Foot Gardens. It's a thing. Google it. You'll get plenty of ideas and designs!

Weight 115.2, calories 735. What??? Another 1.4 pounds down (minus 3.4 since Tuesday). I guess I was full of "you-know-what" and water. I only dropped my calories low for a few days... Tonight we are going out for Italian food at a new restaurant on the water. I expect higher readings on all counts tomorrow.

June already! Absorb and amplify is a great theme.

I am thinking of Paula, Ben and their family a lot. I hope Ben can go peacefully and be in the place he wants to be when he is ready.

Yoga this morning, getting a couple of outdoor chairs using my 25% senior discount at the local outlet place, walking the dogs and dinner out are on the agenda. This weekend I am taking DH to an Irish festival with friends. Oh and I figured out how to put music on DH's iPod and rearranged the apps to make it easier for him to find it. I hope that helps because iPod #4 just died.

Have a forgiving Friday and absorb and amplify!

I'm thinking of each of you this morning, dealing with what the universe is dishing out for you. Especially Paula.

I slept 8 hours last night, but was awake for 2 hours in the middle of the night, so I just slept in a bit this morning.

Yesterday was a rather unexpected lovely day. The hired grandson and I both got a lot done. He finished several days of power washing all our 2,500 square feet of outdoor living surfaces (patios, decks, porches) and walkways and outdoor house surfaces. I bought new porch furniture cushions for deck and porch furniture and put them on, went to yoga class, did grocery shopping, got my car registered for the next two years, had a great visit with some friends in town, bought a new all-season black wool jacket (not an exciting, but a needed purchase) and a pretty bracelet (my prize), and bought a truckbed full of cedar mulch for flower beds. I also had a nice phone call with a good friend and ate some good food, although not quite as many veggies and fruits as I'd intended. I'll do that today.

It did rain late yesterday and last night, which we really needed. It also hailed, but not hard enough to hurt anything. This weekend will be devoted to mowing. I'll start this afternoon after the grass has dried out.

Today is June 1, and summer has definitely arrived, with daily high temps in the 80s and 90s.

Today's theme: Life is practiced, not perfected. I read that on the internet this morning. ;)

P.S. BB, I don't grow any veggies or fruits, just hydrangeas, lilies, roses, deer, turkeys, groundhogs, grass and too many damned squirrels who are eating up all the birdseed!

Rained hard last night. No power most of the night. No ac and no CPAP. Humidity levels say it should still be raining. Planting grass seed is on hold for today. But it did give the seed we planted a drink. I could probably mow after the sun burns off a bit of moisture. Or I could clean the shop in the shade and ac. I think I will do the shop.

Portobello and egg this morning. Cantaloupe for supper last night. My effort to add more fruits and veggies.

As Diane S says time for coffee. More later, David

I admire your choices, David. Air conditioning, portobello and cantaloupe. :)

So glad I could make you smile, Diane! I slept a little better in my bed last night. Always wanting more, I'm waiting for the day I can lay on my side (hip bones are right under my incisions). But beggars can't be choosers.

I'm thinking another round of exfoliating will be in order tonight. I'm flaky! Ew.

Not much else going on for me. I did two loads of laundry. Thank goodness for my grabber! It let me empty the washer/dryer without having to bend over (they are low and deep). The cough is a little better. Hoping the z-pack knocks it out entirely.

Wishing you all a good rest of your Friday!
