The visit to the lofts was fun--a beautiful night, hospitable friends, and good food, albeit celebratory amounts and types, e.g., chocolate chip cookies. I enjoyed it all. :)

On the way home I shopped for a few groceries and got back before noon to have another relaxing day. I watched Netflix and made a super-delicious supper: Oven-baked salmon (on a cedar plank with "smoky, sweet seasonings") on a bed of spinach and arugula with a sliced avocado, fresh strawberries, red onion, and fat-free raspberry vinaigrette. Later for dessert I had more sliced strawberries with a few dollops of vanilla yogurt.

It felt civilized, even genteel, to cook and prepare a real dinner, one that involved turning on the stove. Most of my meals involve a lot of slicing and leftovers or frozen power bowls and the microwave. I'm proud of myself. :)

This will be a busy week, although I won't be mowing until Friday. The next two weekends are big bluegrass music festivals here, and that will be fun. I'm already starting to pack for the July cruise and planning a couple of shorter, weekend summer trips.

And that's the bones of my Summer Plan while I'm noodling over The Bigger Plan. There's something more sustained out there I want / need to do. I know it involves writing, but that's as far as I can see right now.

Today's theme from the new Willie Nelson song: It's not something you get over ... it's something you get through.

Good morning ! What a beautiful long weekend ! I posted a picture of my dock sun salutation time at sunrise yesterday (on OH profile), while DH fished. That experience definitely MUST be repeated !! I?m still feeling energized. DH has two PTSD therapy sessions this week and one PT session, so hopefully that will improve things. I have a manicure today and a massage tomorrow, so my self care is under control.

Carbon and Cecily, I hope you continue to be on the mend. Diane.. we want pictures of the new hair ! Liz, hope your mini reunion and long shore weekend were great. Shel, hoping you were able to enjoy the great outdoors away from unfriendly critters. Devon, hope you were able to christen that grill properly ! BB, keep that positive, self-reflective outlook flowing !! Ann? that view of the homestead !! Such memories you must have for the hard work that went into cultivating it ! May they sustain you ! Dave? hope your pain is relieved substantially.

Paula, I?m hoping you and the boys have some quality time with Ben, and that his pain can be managed as best as possible. Make the time to care for yourself. {{Hugs}}

PS Posted picture !! Room for one more thing on my bucket list !!!

Oh, water, water everywhere--and fish underneath it, too? Beautiful. I don't see much of that type of scenery here in the interior. Have thought of looking for a place that has a reclaimed strip pit (full of water) around here, but DH just reminds me of the new neighbors that would be at such place all the time- MISQUETOES--my nemesis!

Oh, Diane -- what a gorgeous place! For me, that much water just neutralizes all bad energy. :) You're a lucky girl to have access to that dock and H2O. :)

Put Good in, Get Good out,

That's my mantra for the next few (minutes? days? we shall see) I will apply to my work, today and see what I get.

Ann, so glad you were able to enjoy a home prepared luscious meal - you deserve it. And DianeO, much positive energy coming from you. I hope DH is able to improve. What a long process!

I finally have found a SOS type product to have with me when hiking. There are many out there, all have an significant up-front cost and some have a subscription. I wanted one without subscription until I found out it is only a call for SOS without context and The Government sends a helicopter that one should be prepared to pay for.

I'll get one that has a subscription cost associated, allows for limited texts to anyone. I can SOS with information about my problem so appropriate help can be sent. I can cancel the SOS if it turns out I solve my own problem. An added bonus that if my family chooses to (and they won't) they could follow my electronic breadcrumbs on the cloud just for fun.

This fits my needs of what I perceive to be my biggest threats 1)wandering off the trail and hopelessly lost or 2) physical injury that caused me to roll into a ravine so that I am not visible to other hikers

Enough of me, get down to the business of you,

Shel

Safety first!

Well, maybe wine first. Then safety.

Good morning everyone.

thank you for the good wishes. First day in the hydrotherapy pool and my goodness am a tiny bit stiff this morning. I could not do the " ok, 25 swinging legs each side ... etc etc " as am finally learning that pain is a guide and that being a hero ( meaning show off in this case ) is not necessarily wise.

Thinking of you all today, some are carrying very heavy loads.

Off for the 10 hour return trip to see the surgeon. Thankfully they are holding a clinic in the next town as normally would have to travel to the big wicked city and that means we would leave here at 5am and get back by 11 pm. A very long day.

Take good care.

I shall endeavor to stop complaining about my 3-4 hour round trip drives to my surgeon given what you face! Can't say I'll succeed, but I'll try...
