Honeydew is the green fleshed melon with a fresher taste and cantaloupe is the orange fleshed melon with a sweeter/sometimes musky taste.

Musky describes cantaloupe well. Something almost BO-ish about it! (Not my favorite melon, can you tell?)

When I was a kid we grew what we called "Mushmelons"- real name , Muskmelons. These were about half or less the size of a cantaloupe, but heavily veined on the out side, a deeper shade on the inside, and with a much softer texture to the flesh. They, too, had more of that flavor you described for cantaloupe---but more so. I always thought that there were Muskmelons, Cantaloupe, that the "green ones" were just a different color cantaloupe, and that Honeydew melons came from Mars -and far as I knew, I had never met one! (Lets you know just how much attention I pay to labels at the market.)

quick pop in

Love that salad. Will try to do something similar this weekend.

Peps, LOVED your classroom. Warm, calm, centered; all about the kids, learning and Tank. If I was a parent, I wouldn't care if you didn't try to sell yourself to me.....I would already be sold just crossing the threshold.

David! Best wishes on procedures and recovery.

I found some work pants in the closet the other day that I haven't worn in over a year (they were inadvertently hidden.) I anxiously tried them on. They fit. Wonders never cease.

May we all find our toes. And recess. Maybe toes and recess if we are limber enough.

Weight 157.8 garbed up. A new low since VSG

Fergus is home! I have hired a dog walker who will be coming by in an hour to take him out. He can potty in the backyard, but he prefers not to. His wolf roots want to spread that in the wild away from his den!

Still sitting/sleeping a lot in my damn chair. My neighbor has really made herself at home walking into my house whenever she feels like it. I'm going to need to reestablish boundaries once I don't need her to do my laundry any more. I am a private person and I've had to let that go these last weeks, but it takes it's toll on me.

Wounds I hope are doing well. Can't really tell as they look gross, but at least they don't smell like yuck anymore. TMI. Sorry.

Liz, that spread looks delicious!!

Wishing everyone well!

Not TMI, we can take it.

Totally understand about privacy and re-establishing boundaries.

Give Fergus a drive-by pet for me.....so glad he is there for company.

Greetings Friday Funsters

148 again. Nothing will change unless I make it so. Well maybe tomorrow. (anyone making progress on the procrastination front? I am still thinking about ordering that book).

Great looking food Liz. You are lucky to have the chef in the family. Reminds me that if you are going to eat a little extra it should be something really good and not a twinkie.

Dave, glad your procedure went ok. Hope it helps. Love the image of Adalyn toe exploring. How wonderful to discover the world. And speaking of which, Peps what a fabulous classroom you have. So different from the rows of horrid little desks and painfully tidy classrooms we had as kids. You can see that underneath the room is the standard issue school architecture but you have made it into a learning/exploring paradise. Love how the kids work is celebrated.

Well good luck Ann at the SSI office. Hope its not too dreary and the rest of the day is pleasant.

Its not so pleasant here today. Its raining so DH is watching creepy sci fi which is bad enough but this episode includes heavy metal music. Oh well, its only an hour....unless he has multiple episodes recorded.

Well I made an appointment next week to have my hair cut and COLORED. No clue what thats going to be - maybe a highlight. My hairbrush is just too full of grey.

Peps funny about the penguin shorts. I have been making little shot glasses that look like boxer shorts. Tried to post a picture but can't seem to do it. Might have to send it to Shel, my computer guru. I used to make penguin figures but haven't done that in awhile. Might have to do it again. Been on an owl kick lately.

Cecily, glad you have Fergie back. And a dog walker. Here is wishing you chair escape soon. Great idea to donate it to help breast cancer patients. We have a very active breast health project here and it makes me think I should have donated the wedge pillows to them.

I can see I am going to have to get out of the house today. So its off to the studio but first, more coffee.
