What a lovely day I had yesterday -- a nice, long yoga class, a hike along a beautiful roaring river and lake, then lunch with a friend. And then a loooong, restful nap. I didn't mow at all. And no snakes were killed. ;)
Devon, I'm in love with the pictures of your classroom. Man, that room and you are awesome. I never, ever had a teacher like you, but I sure wish I had.
This morning I go to the Social Security office for the "My husband died" meeting. I have to take DH's death certificate, our marriage license, and my checkbook (to repay his SS payments for the past several months). Our marriage license is in a huge frame (along with our wedding photo and wedding announcement), so they'll be challenged to to get a copy of the license, since I am NOT tearing that thing apart. BTW, I'm acting like this appointment isn't a big deal. But it might be.
The rest of the day will be the usual -- mowing, house cleaning, and errands.
Today's theme: School's out!

Yes, Devon gets my prize for best teacher. Makes me want to be a student again! I hope the parents realize how lucky their children are (I bet the kids do).
Weight 118, calories a gazillian. DS cooked for a family gathering last night. I had everything and it was worth it. No way to go back and count those calories. Picture of the spread below (with a closeup of the gorgeous salad).
It is supposed to be very warm today: Probably 80 here and 90 where my mini reunion is on the mainland. Since I'm a warm weather lover I'm happy. Maybe I can break out my white jeans again (they have been sad in the drawer since we returned from Florida).

Liz, that feast looks wonderful! I'm staring at the salad and think I see avocado, oranges, pomegranate, onions, cucumbers and radishes. I don't think I'd ever (by myself) think to combine those into a salad. What else was in there? And what kind (if any) of dressing?
And down at the end I see grilled zucchini. Honestly, depending on what dessert was, that was NOT an unnutritious meal.

Definitely nutritious and scrumptious... but a few more calories than needed with the goat cheese and prosciutto appetizer, wine, AND a couple of petit fours.
He used a Bolthouse Cilantro Avocado yogurt dressing. He said Balsamic vinaigrette would work too. There were spring greens and arugula in there underneath. It was a masterpiece!

Whoa! Hadn't even noticed the scallops. :) That was a true feast -- not a single melted marshmallow or a dollop of Kool Whip on the table. ;)

Oh, Peps! Well done. (30 years in the classroom, and, wow- your room would be a super strong contender for the NBRIS- National Best Room in Show award.) I especially like the student centeredness of it AND- the calm, neat, orderly appearance--truly sets an environment that encourages creativity and learning. Your students are fortunate to have you.
Weight 157.0 Lots of seasonal, fresh veggies and fruits (strawberries). Intend to explore melon possibilities. What in the world is the difference between a cantaloupe and a honeydew?????
Waking up- a good day----schools out, yes, also a good day---I have a whole day to experience---All things considered, I'm-playing with house money! Going to go out and spend it well, as I hope you all do likewise.
