Eating is about the same. Wt is about the same. I need to track both. When I was eating N&Y all the time the calories rarely changed.

I drove back to the shop in the woods for a while. Good mood could not hang so I am resting. Maybe steroids related from my back procedure. I have finished all baseboards and shoe molding everywhere I have finished the flooring. I had to pick up 3 more boxes of flooring. I am preparing to wear my painters hat soon. I am a good house painter but enjoy the wood working much more. I think painting is a little on the boring side.

Baby Adalyn is spending the night with us. She is really in the teeth cutting mode. A little cranky. We are going to have to add on to the airstream soon. LOL

Paula there is an energy in the youth that if it does not suck the life out of you it kinda energizes you. Hope the later was the case.

Liz, In Alzheimer units there are 3-6 staff for each resident. Trying to do this alone is tuff.

Shel, I wish my transfer addiction was hiking! Uber to exercise is something I would never have even thought to do.

Cecily, I have done a few closets. Custom closets for a 3 bedroom house usually cost about the same as a full kitchen. At one time in my life I thought about doing closets exclusively. No plumbing or counter tops.

Peps, Your grooming business is full time level. Glad you are cutting back (pun intended). I have one small dog to groom. It takes me at least 2 days because he gets tired and the clippers get hot. Need to get some more clipper cool.

Diane S, Down sizing totes is what I have been doing for about 4 years. Stuff we had moved and moved. It is a good feeling when it is gone or organized to be useful again.

Diane O, Hope your knees are still healing up and your back to getting you steps in.

More Later, David

Weight 115.4, calories 769. I think if I can stay low calorie for a few more days, I can keep down in my range (as long as that isn't followed by an equal stretch of high days LOL).

DH should be happier for a couple of days anyway as we discussed his specific paranoia's and clarified what was really happening. Unfortunately that is probably only temporary. Time to increase the lexapro! I don't think he can tell time anymore. He definitely can't on a clock with hands, but I'm not sure he fully understands what 7 am vs 8 am vs 9 am are. I bet no one else would pick that up though because he compensates well. The GPS watch I ordered will be digital - should be interesting...

We took several good walks yesterday - around the block to the pond and at the beach. Justice was in heaven and it was good exercise for us too. It is supposed to rain later today so I should get my act together and walk this morning while it is nice out, but I need more coffee first!

After walking, bills have to be done and my monthly WLS meeting (which I haven't been able to attend since October) is tonight.

Have a supportive Sunday!

Weight unknown. Probably high. Starting to "watch it" tomorrow lol. But this has been a stressful week. I'm giving myself allowances.

Becca slept nearly 9 hours last night. For the past couple weeks she seems to do one "bad" night of 5 hours before waking up, and then 2 7-8 hour sleeps, then back to 5. So I cannot complain at all! She's only 7 weeks old today. Sleep is oh so important!! Can't wait for her 12 hour stretch which will enable me to do stuff in the evening plus sleep a full night! Peps is right--sleep is soooo important.

We're still adjusting to the change about DH's job. There is so much change. We're feeling much more optimistic now, but still sad. When something has been so central to your life for 10 years and you were happy and saw that as your future, it's just hard to snap into a new vision.

I think we may leave for Florida in a week and stay nearly 3 weeks. BIL has 2 vacation homes there and we might just use both! DH can apply for jobs there/make phonecalls. If we stay here he'll probably have no leads, whereas if we go I'm sure he'll get an interview!

In the meantime, the weather is beautiful. Finally looking like spring/summer! Took Becca to an arts festival yesterday--highs were 84 degrees. Then my parents watched her so that Rich and I could go to the movies and dinner. Today we'll smoke some ribs and a couple friends are coming over to meet Becca.

I'm glad you are feeling more optimistic. It is much easier to handle change when your mood is good (and you've had enough sleep). Yeah on Becca increasing her sleeping. She must be a contented growing girl,

You are lucky to have 9 hours of sleep all in a row. Adalyn sleeps in 4 hour blocks at night and 2 hours during the daytime. I think this is an unusual sleep pattern. I think the most she has slept is 5.5hours. Best wishes in the job search.

Hi Guys,

I go home tonight! I am looking forward to seeing my peeps, pups, and parrot.

The conference has been good. Peps, I'll get back to you on the sleep, soon. Also, DianeS, I need finish my comment about your trip to Bryce. (Because now you know you have to go to Bryce)

About durability of lifestyle changes: wow, is it hard. I have been watching many of the conference organizers/presenters (mostly cardiologists) for 10 years. Weight is up. They feel the need for good lifestyle in their bones. They are passionate about preventing the need for ever seeing a cardiologist. Yet, here they are.

We had an MD speaker yesterday on vegan/vegetarianism. I have NEVER heard an MD speak on any diet pattern at length before, I can not stress how unusual that is. He is a cardiologist at a Chicago hospital and most of his fellow cardiologists at that location have become vegetarian derivatives if not full on vegan. (The data for improved cardiovascular health with any move away from animal products is impressive)

However, he noted that the most common cause of cardiologists nationwide is heart attacks because even tho they know all the risks, they don't understand diet, can't teach diet, and don't change their own diet. He was full of candor and enthusiasm.

So, if cardiologists can't stick to lifestyle changes, who can? They are not under an illusion that pills are better than lifestyle. I supposed we are all just people at our core. We haven't cracked that nut.

Dave, I wish my transfer addiction was being productive, like you. Except I think you have always been productive. I have always been particularly adept at fiddling away the time, enjoying every second.

Liz, my MIL had one of the most impressive brains I have ever known. She was the master of compensation. Even when she moved into her AFH (demented and getting worse by any measure) she was able to "fool" professional with pure confabulation. Also paranoid with a fair amount of delusions, many about family members. One was that my husband (power of attorney) was limiting access to toilet paper. When we were driving across Alaska, we got a call from the residence about this potential elder abuse.

Gotta get a move on. Go have some recess!

Shel

I have always been productive because that's what work o holics do. I used to work 7 12 hr shifts then drive from AZ to AR to work on my house in my week off. I still feel the need to work but I do it now to enjoy the process and not just for the money.

I have a friend who is very much like you. I admire both of you and your ability to focus on getting "chores" done. I'm not so good at that. I get free time and I twitter it away. Eh, probably because I get so little free time, when I get it I want to luxuriate in idleness!

I apparently steal dark chocolate (LOL - I really don't). Milk chocolate with caramel and sea salt would probably be at risk though.
