Weight 168.4 too much salt and a few bad choices
Good morning! The pre-op appointment went well, but the drive home was horrendous. 3 hours door to door and it?s 58 miles. It made me miss my painting class. Argh. I need to insist on late morning/midday appointments.
This morning I'm headed to the dermatologist and then finishing cleaning out closets and packing up for Salvation Army this afternoon.
I met a group from LA on the trail yesterday. I passed them on the way up and one of the men mocked my speed. I stopped to talk to them on the way down...fun chatty group.
Anyway, in our random conversation, one of them commented that their local drives are locations in themselves...as in "I went to The 405 today"
when will we figure out better ways to get around?

Greetings Strong People
148 today. DH wanted canned chili last night so thats what we had. Shrimp tonight.
Liz how frightening that your DH took off. Glad he was safe. My grandmother had alzheimers but she was never angry much. My mother did take her to adult day care at times. She also hired older ladies to come and keep her company. It was a group of women from the 7th day Adventist church who needed extra money. It worked well. Diane o's companion idea may be a good one. When friend Pat got so cranky we did find her a care giver that she got along with and accepted who was mainly company. If you post a schedule by the door you could do the same for yourself so he doesn't feel singled out. Wishing you the best here.
Hey Shel, love the petroglyphs! One of my artist friends here makes pottery with images from cave art on them. So interesting.
Yikes Cecily, 3.5 hours to go 58 miles! Talking about the 405 is like that Saturday night live skit "the Californians" who obsess about freeway directions. We were on the 405 a lot on our recent trip and we always made fun of that.
Today is a studio day preceded by errands to pharmacy, thrift store, accountant, bank, health food store and animal rescue which takes old towels and such. And I have a kiln that I have never used that I am giving away to another potter who needs it. Out of the garage! Gotta make room for a new car and charger.
Glad you are on the mend Diane O. Baby those knees.
Yeah, I dry up like a prune in the desert. Went to Reno for a week a few years back and got nose bleeds from the dryness. I so love the moist climate here even though one must be mold vigilant.
DH is making a costco run for shrimp. Odd, but I can't think of anything else we really need from there. My executive membership has gone barely used since I stopped getting stuff at their pharmacy.
Enough blather. Hug your loved ones all. And keep the coffee coming. Diane S

Ha! That skit could not be more true to life. I was doing it last night talking to my friend Bill who was in his car on his 1.5 hour, 22 mile commute home (also on the 405). He told me "take the 110 FastPass to the 405. Then you could cut across to the 5 on the 710 or the 605 or stay on the 405 to the 22 to the 55 to the 5..." And then we argue with the navigation in our cars about the rerouting it wants to do and whether it makes sense or not. It's freeway-speak and we're all fluent here.
